The true, clinical definition of a 'fetish' is the pervasive affection of one's desire, resulting in an impact on the way one interacts with society; often having a significant psychosocial distress for the affected, and/or negative impact on one's ability to interact socially, or the inability to achieve sexual gratification (orgasm) without the presence of their object(s) of desire [fetish].

Use of the word 'fetish' in everyday social interaction has changed the common definition significantly. In commonplace conversation, a 'fetish' can be any object of sexual desire or arousal, without having any of the psychological or social impacts as implied by the clinical definition. For purposes of this site, and the content below, the latter definition shall apply...

Below is a list of sexual objectifications ("fetishes") which are commonplace. It is the intention of the author to help educate and promote acceptance and understanding of those who have fetishes, both clinical and non-clinical, however, this site, and it's contents should not be used to diagnose, assess or treat any condition. This list is solely intended for educational purposes, and is intended to help promote the open exploration of one's sexual desires.

Sexual fetishism and objectification are an important part of human sexuality. While I encourage you to experiment and explore, it is important to be smart and safe about your actions. Fetishes can result in the transmission of sexual diseases, injury, or even death, depending on the fetish. Know your partner, know your limits, and know your equipment. Be safe, sane, and responsible. The author (that's me!) does not specifically endorse any of the activities or descriptions provided herein. The reader should be cognoscente of the law(s) in their community, municipality or body of government, and should uphold those laws in their entirety...

Abasiophilia, considered by some to be a type of paraphilia, is a sexual attraction to disabled people who use orthopaedic appliances such as leg braces, orthopedic casts, spinal braces or wheelchairs. The etymology is from the Greek language abasios, meaning "lameness". The attraction can be very strong. For some, it can be a source of guilt, as the combination of sex and disability are still considered taboo in most societies. It is not uncommon for those affected to want to use orthopaedic appliances themselves. The majority of people who do find this a source of relief from what can be an overpowering desire. It is classed as a form of disability fetishism which starts in early childhood, usually long before puberty is reached. There is normally a trigger event in early childhood involving disabled children or adults. It is most common in those who were children in the 1940s, 50s and 60s when Polio was common and there were lots of people using leg braces to be seen.

Ablutophilia is the sexual stimulation as the result of showering or bathing. The sexual arousal may be the result of a tactile sensation from water, the temperature of the water, or may be psychological as the result of social or media influences, such as shower scenes in movies, or past self-experiences. This philia is often combined with other fantasies, such as BDSM or forced sex environments, (such as a sports team in a locker room setting.) Because nudity is prevelant in a bathing envirnoment, this is a fairly common philia, as many individuals experience an early sexual experience in such an environment. Ablutophiliacs also can combine this fetish with aquaphilia, watersports, depilation, or asphyxiphilia; or may use the water as a source of lubrication for penetration.

Acrophilia, considered by some to be a type of paraphilia, is a sexual attraction to places with a high elevation, often combined with a danger element. Typically, the endorphins resulting from the natural reaction to being at great height causes sexual stimulation for the individual, sometimes combined with other dangerous acts to heighten the emotional and physical simulation. Sometimes, though rarely, this may be combined with a fantasy of falling or flying.

Acrotomophilia refers to sexual interest in amputees (from the Greek akron [extremity], tomein [to cut] and philein [to love]). It is a counterpart to apotemnophilia, the sexual interest in being an amputee or a fantasy in having a limb or appendage amputated. Attraction to disability is a sexualised interest of people in the appearance, sensation and experience of disability. It may extend from normal human sexuality into a type of sexual fetishism. Sexologically, the pathological end of the attraction tends to be seen as a paraphilia, though also as an aspect of identity disorder. This philia may also be associated with abasiophilia.

Acousitcophilia is the sexual arousal from aural stimulation. The specifics of the sound which generates arousal can vary greatly from person to person. This fetish is sometimes referred to as audiophilia, though technically a misnomer. While most commonly associated with the sexual arousal from loud sounds, (explosions, bangs, and bursts,) this can also be used to describe someone who experiences sexual stimulation or arousal from specific sounds which the majority would not find sexually arousing, such as car horns, sirens, etc. Typically, the sexual arousal is associated with an early experience where the sound or noise, or type of noise, was experienced during sexual development.

Actirasty is the sexual arousal from sunlight, or the sun's rays. This can include the desire to have sex in sunlight, or can be based on the sensory/tactile sensations of sunlight in itself. In rare cases, this fetish can be dangerous, as it can lead to severe sunburn or skin damage. This fetish is also loosely tied to a sexual attraction to people with deep suntans or sunburn, or can be tied to using sunburn as a BDSM techinque. This fetish also sometimes runs in parallel to an exhibitionism fetishism, such as agoraphilia.

Aeriophilia is a very specialized sub-category of medical fetishism in which sexual arousal is induced by the idea of general anesthesia, and the various equipment and paraphernalia related to its use. Of particular interest to most (though not all) people with this fetish are the masks through which gaseous anesthetic agents are administered. Old-style anesthesia masks of black rubber - nicknamed Black Beauty - are particularly revered. People with this fetish may have a desire to administer anesthesia to someone, to be anesthetized themselves, to watch someone else being anesthetized, or any combination of these. Most common in this philia is the use of nitrous oxide [dinitrogen monoxide / N2O] which is known to cause a numb, tingling feeling in low doses, and drowsiness or sleep in higher doses when mixed with oxygen. Due to the dangerous nature of anesthetics, inexperienced or casual play involving them is extremely risky - even the hands of trained professionals they are potentially very dangerous. Hypoxia, asphyxiation, suffocation, and death may occur if gases are not administered properly.

AAgalmatophilia (from the Greek agalma 'statue', and -philia f???a = love) is a paraphilia concerned with the sexual attraction to a statue, doll, mannequin or other similar figurative object. The attraction may include the desire for actual sexual contact with the objects, a fantasy of having sexual (or non-sexual) encounters with the animate or inanimate instances of the preferred objects, the act of watching encounters between the objects themselves, or sexual pleasure gained from thoughts of being transformed or transforming another into the preferred object. Agalmatophilia may also encompass Pygmalionism (from the myth of Pygmalion) which describes a state of love for an object of one's own creation. An important fantasy for some individuals is being transformed into the preferred object (such as a statue) and experiencing an associated state of immobility or paralysis. Such fantasies may be extended to roleplaying, and the self-coined term used by fetishists who enjoy being transformed appears to be "rubber doll" or "latex doll".

Chastity is the act of abstaining from sexual activity or stimulation. For purposes of the fetish culture, this usually is accomplished by use of a bondage device, such as a chastity belt, tube, sheath or cage. They are a means for the wearer to surrender their sexual behaviour, either for sexual play, a long-term method of preventing infidelity, or masturbation.
There is something wonderfully paradoxal about getting off on not being able to get off...

Agonophilia is the paraphilia involving sexual arousal derived from the act of fighting, or participating in or observing a combat sport, such as wrestling, boxing or kickboxing, martial arts, etc., or from viewing depictions thereof; from the Greek agonos (combat, struggle, conflict) and philia (love of).

Agonophilia often also involves the fetishizing of the equipment associated with combat sports (i.e. boxing gloves/trunks, safety gear, martial arts uniforms, etc.).

rough trade is the arousal from the act of rough sex, or the attraction to people with a "rough" appearance. (scruffy, muscular, intimidating, etc.) rough sex, for all intensive purposes, is sex without emotion or intimacy, but raw sex, solely for the purpose of physical satisfaction , usually without regard for the comfort or enjoyment of the other party. rough trade fetishes often (but not always) coincide with rape fantasies on the part of the receiver.

Sensory deprivation is the deliberate reduction or removal of stimuli from one or more of the senses. Simple devices such as blindfolds or hoods and earmuffs can cut off sight and hearing respectively, while more complex devices can also cut off the sense of smell, touch, taste, thermoception (heat-sense), and 'gravity'.

Some people enjoy sensory deprivation because it allows them to be in a meditative state, others because it is said to enhance your remaining senses, (that it to say, if hearing, sight, and sound are taken away, the sense of touch is heightened.)

A person who is sexually aroused by the foreskin is said to have a foreskin fetish. Like all sexual fetishes, in some cases this may interfere with normal sexual or social functioning.

Foreskin fetishism can be classified as a paraphilia, characterised by intense sexual urges involving (in this case) the male foreskin. The foreskin fetishist can be male or female.

Algolagnia/Algalagnia is a sexual tendency which is defined by deriving sexual pleasure and stimulation from physical pain, often involving an erogenous zone.
Masochism is sexual pleasure in the reception of pain or humiliation.

Paraphilic infantilism is a paraphilia characterized by the desire to wear diapers, due to reasons other than medical necessity, and/or be treated as an infant or toddler. It is also characterized by the carrying out of these desires on a regular basis. Within the community of such diaper wearers, one who engages only in the erotic or sexual aspect of diaper wearing without experiencing any accompanying regression fantasies is known as a diaper lover (or DL). An adult who only engages in the infantilistic play aspect is known as an adult baby (or AB). An adult who may experience both of these things is referred to as an AB/DL. In 2004, an informal online survey of 80 adult diaper wearers showed that approximately 40% considered themselves strictly DL's, approximately 40% were mixed, and 20% considered themselves strictly AB's. The survey also indicated that there is a significant number of teenagers who engage in this practice. Findings of the American Psychiatric Association indicate that a majority of infantilists are heterosexual males.

DL's and AB's differ in self-image and the focus of attention. Neither includes a sexual preference for children. There is no singular, archetypical behavior for paraphilic infantilism, but a wide range of thought patterns and behaviors. Some fantasize about being free of guilt, responsibility, or control, whereas others might not. Some act indistinguishably from a baby at times, while others practice in a way that would probably not be noticed by passers by on the street. The desires and tastes of paraphilic infantilists vary around common themes of diapers and babyhood.

Shoe fetishism is the attribution of attractive sexual qualities to shoes or other footwear as a matter of sexual preference, psychosexual disorder, and an alternative or complement to a relationship with a partner. It has also been known as retifism, after Nicolas-Edme Rétif, a French novelist.

Homosexual men with shoe fetishism can be erotically interested in either men's or women's shoes. Although shoes carry sexual connotations in mainstream culture(for example, women's shoes are commonly sold as being "sexy") this opinion refers to an ethnographic or cultural context.

Feet and pantyhose are related fetishes which are common among shoe fetishists, but this is not always the case.

In some cases, the fetish is exclusive to sneakers, and the olofactorism (scent) is an associated fetish
Alvinolagnia or belly fetish or stomach fetish is a partialism in which an individual is sexually attracted to the stomach, midriff, belly or chest. Some fetishists get a turn-on from touching or rubbing their belly region. While some tend to gain sexual thrill from either tickling the belly of a sex partner or being subjected to their own belly getting tickled using objects such as feathers, brushes, etc. Licking the lower abdomen can produce erotic sensations in women, since the nerve endings lead to the female clitoris.

A blindfold (from Middle English blindfellen) is a garment, usually of cloth, tied to one's head to cover the eyes to disable the wearer's sight. It can be worn when the eyes are in a closed state and thus prevents the wearer from opening them. Even with the eyes open (as permitted by many blindfolds, especially those made of cloth), the user cannot see.

Sexual blindfold use is common in and outside of the bondage community, one of the initial things recommended for sexual variety. Blindfolds (along with feathers and handcuffs) are commonly sold in novelty "bondage kits" marketed toward non-BDSM practitioners.[1] Many impromptu items already found in the bedroom lend themselves to such use without preparation or prior purchase of specialized equipment. A collection of BDSM blindfolds.

Blindfolds can be worn during BDSM situations by the submissive.

Use of a blindfold is said to enhance the remaining senses of the wearer, focusing attention on sound, smells and physical contact. This increased awareness is said to allow for greater excitement and anticipation by eliminating visual cues, as one cannot see what to expect. It also requires trust of the submissive, with all the emotional ramifications that entails.

Incest refers to any sexual activity between closely related persons (often within the immediate family) that is illegal or a social taboo. The type of sexual activity and the nature of the relationship between persons that constitutes a breach of law or social taboo vary with culture and jurisdiction. Some societies consider it to include only those who live in the same household, or who belong to the same clan or lineage; other societies consider it to include "blood relatives"; other societies further include those related by adoption or marriage.

Respirators can hold a variety of appeals, depending on the person. Respirators can play a part in breath control, or asphyxiation;. they can also play a visual role, in making a person look machine-like, inhuman, or powerful. Some also use them for the concentrated inhalation of gasses or vapors, such as amyl nitratel (poppers), or ether.

It is common that this fetish is in conjunction with a gasmask fetish.

Anasteemaphilia is a phlia fetish for taller or shorter sexual partners. In some cases, this can be taken to extremes, (also sometimes referred to as macroism or microism,) with a philai for very tiny or giant persons.

Robot fetishism (also ASFR or technosexuality) is a fetishistic attraction to humanoid or non-humanoid robots; also to people acting like robots or people dressed in robot costumes. A less common fantasy involves transformation into a robot. In these ways it is similar to agalmatophilia, which involves attraction to or transformation into statues or mannequins.

Robot fetishism can be viewed as a form of erotic anthropomorphism. When transformation or roleplaying is involved it can be thought of as a form of erotic objectification.

By its enthusiasts, robot fetishism is more commonly referred to by the initials ASFR. This initialism stems from the now defunct newsgroup alt.sex.fetish.robots. Many devotees of this fetish refer to themselves as technosexual, or as "ASFRians".

Androgyne fetish is the sexual arousal or attraction to persons who either have no gender value, or have some aspects generally attributed to the opposite gender. This lack of distinct gender identification can be either by physical appearance, or behavioural. With the emergence of many androgynous characters in popular video games and Japanese anime, as well as musicians who capitalize on their androgynous appearance, this fetish is becoming more commonplace.

Anophelorastia is the sexual arousal resulting from a fantasy-based sexual scenario where the top fictitiously seizes or abducts the consenting bottom and has complete control to do what he/she pleases.

This fetish often co-incides with bondage and rape fetishism, aligned with the desire of a submissive to feel completely helpless and at the control of the dominant. The reverse may also be true, where the dominant desires total control over the submissive...

This fetish/desire can also co-incide with other fantasy-based desires, such as alien abduction, medical fetishism, etc.

Anthropomorphism is the attribution of uniquely human characteristics to non-human creatures and beings, natural and supernatural phenomena, material states and objects or abstract concepts. (Zoomorphia is the opposite- attibutiing animal characteristics to humans.) Subjects for anthropomorphism/zoomorphia commonly include animals and plants depicted as creatures with human motivation able to reason and converse, forces of nature such as winds or the sun, components in games, unseen or unknown sources of chance, etc. Almost any being can be subject to anthropomorphism or zoomorphia.

Apopnigophilia is sexual gratification from the act of facesitting. Also known as queening, is a sexual practice in which one partner sits on or over the other's face, typically to allow or force oral-genital or oral-anal contact, or to further ass worship or body worship. It is common for this position to form part of BDSM, involving dominance and submission, though this need not be the case. Within a BDSM or D/s context, face-sitting can be an especially intense form of erotic humiliation.

Facesitting is common among dominant and submissive individuals, for demonstrating superiority and for sexual gratification. It is also practiced by couples for cunnilingus where the woman kneels over the man, and sits on his upper chest rather than face.

Unlike smothering, in facesitting the bottom partner is not always deprived of air.

The full-weight body-pressure, moisture, sex odors and darkness can be perceived as powerful sexual attractions or compulsions. The person sat upon may be in bondage, sexually submissive, or simply held down by the body-weight of the other person. Sometimes special furniture is used, such as a smotherbox or queening stool.

Aquaphilia is a sexual fetish based around swimsuits and water. The most common of which is the desire to perform sexual acts in water.

Arachnapihlia is the sexual arousal brought about by the presence of spiders. This may be a visual philia based on images or sight sensory, or may be a physical one where the sensation of spiders crawling on the skin may create the arousal.

Aretifism is a sexual attraction to people who are without footwear. While such people are necessarily barefoot, wearing transparent hosiery, or wearing shoes or sandals without socks, the attraction is usually not to the foot but to its naked vulnerability.

It is considered a sub-category of foot fetishism, foot partialism, foot worship, or podophilia which are the most common form of sexual preference for otherwise non-sexual objects or body parts.

It is possible that he fetishist in question loves the idea of feeling dirt, grass and soil under their feet. He might also find society's ideas surrounding footwear to be constraining; but instead of acting out that desire on his own, he stimulates it by developing a sexual fetish towards walking and seeing barefoot people.

Foot fetish has been defined as a pronounced sexual interest in the feet or footwear. Freud considered foot binding as a form of fetishism. For a foot fetishist, points of attraction include the shape and size of the foot and toes (i.e., long toes, short toes, pointed toes, high arches, slender soles, fat toes, long toenails, short toenails, small feet, toenail color), jewelry, toe rings, ankle bracelets, treatments e.g.: french pedicure, state of dress (i.e., barefoot, flip flops, or clad in socks or nylons), odor, and any form of sensory interaction, e.g. licking, sucking, tickling, people giving foot jobs.

Sexual humiliation is the consensual use of psychological humiliation in a sexual context, whereby one person gains arousal or erotic excitement from the mixed and powerful emotions of being humiliated and demeaned. The humiliation need not be sexual in itself, as with many other sexual activities it is the feelings derived from it which are sought, regardless of the nature of the actual activity. It can be verbal or physical, and can be relatively private or public. Often it can become ritualized, and unlike some sexual variations it can also be easily carried out over a long distance or online. The distinction between humiliation and dominance in an activity such as erotic spanking is that the sought after effect is primarily the humiliation, the activity is just a means to that end.

Whilst mild or moderate humiliation is not an uncommon part of BDSM or other sexual roleplay, humiliation play can be taken to a point where it becomes considered edgeplay by most people, either due to its extreme nature or due to the controversial views on its psychological impact. This is a highly subjective issue, and depends greatly on context.

Sexual humiliation is very open ended. Broadly it can be divided into verbal, and physical aspects. Verbal aspects might include:
  • Verbal belittlement, such as "slave", "boy", "girl", "missy", "pet".
  • Insults and verbal abuse, such as "fat", "ugly", "stupid", "worthless".
  • Degrading references such as "slut", "tart", "bitch", "faggot" and "whore".
  • Slighting of body parts or behaviors, such as disparaging or cruel references to breasts, facial appearance, genitalia or genital size, bottom, and slighting of mannerisms such as walking, responsiveness, standard of self-care.
  • Having to ask permission for everyday activities such as toilet, or eating or spending money.
  • Small penis humiliation, where scorn is addressed towards the supposed inadequacy of the male's genitals or his inability to please a woman (and by implication his essential worthlessness as a man and his penis becomes an object of play for the woman).
  • Forced repetition, such as being obliged to repeat back commands to confirm them.
  • Mockery and ridicule.
Physical and tangible aspects might include:
  • Ejaculating, defecating, spitting, slapping or urinating on the bottom's body or, especially, the face.
  • Performance of menial tasks or abusive workload such as cleaning the floors with a toothbrush.
  • Detailed accountability and control (micro-management) as to time spent or activities done, including list of jobs to do, precise directions as to how the housework is to be performed, exactly how to act and behave, and so on.
  • Specific rituals and affectations to be adopted. This includes displays of subservience, such as lighting cigarettes, walking a pace behind the dominant, only speaking when spoken to, kneeling or eating after others, low status place to sleep, kissing the dominant's feet or licking their boots, etc.
  • Roleplaying "lower status" beings such as animals (for example dog or horse) or babies (see human animal roleplay and adult baby play).
  • Spanking, whipping, restraint or other BDSM activities such as cock and ball torture (CBT).
  • Prohibitions or restrictions on clothing, or feminizing, cross dressing and/or sissification.
  • Use of chastity belts or other means of erotic sexual denial.
  • Wearing of external signs of "ownership" such as a collar.
  • Having friends, family or strangers aware of or witnessing one's treatment (i.e.: public humiliation).
  • Erotic objectification, where the bottom is cast in the role of an object, such as a footstool.
  • Embarrassment.
  • Forced Homosexuality
Some sexual humiliation involves inflicting pain but much of it is far more concerned with ridicule, mocking, degradation and embarrassment.

Sexual roleplaying may or may not involve humiliation. For example, one person might play the part of a dog because they enjoy being mock-forced into it and the top will emphasize the lowness of the bottom's status as an animal, whereas another person might play the role of the dog without any element of humiliation, simply as an expression of their inner animal or playful spirit.

This is a paraphilia fetish involving the armour or padding material often associated with sports and athletics. This fetish can involve the wearing of, or the visual of someone wearing the items, or the items themselves. This fetish commonly overlaps the olfactophilic fetish, where the items are presented with sweat and odor. The athleticism and physical activity associated with such garments, and/or the homoeroticism found in related sports can also be a factor. In the cases of padding and armor, the bulkiness, weght, and movement resrtriction are often influencing factors as well.

This is a paraphilia fetish involving the protective cups, and supportive jock straps associated with sport and athletic activity.

This is a paraphilia fetish involving the jerseys and shorts often associated with sports and athletics. this fetish can also be considered a uniform fetish, though exclusive to sports-style uniforms.

Paraphilic infantilism, (autonepiophiloia) is a paraphilia characterized by the desire to wear diapers, due to reasons other than medical necessity, and/or be treated as an infant[1] or toddler. The survey also indicated that there is a significant number of teenagers who engage in this practice. Findings of the American Psychiatric Association indicate that a majority of infantilists are heterosexual males.

DL's and AB's differ in self-image and the focus of attention. The desires and tastes of paraphilic infantilists vary around common themes of diapers and babyhood.

Automotive fetishism is a sexual philia where one gains sexual satisfaction from an automobile. This can include specific details about the type of vehicle, (car, motorcycle, bus, truck, etc.,) and can involve having sex in, on, or even with said vehicle.

Autoerotica to a whole new level...

B
Balloon fetishism is a fetish in which a person has an unusual fascination of, or pertaining to, balloons, which provides sexual arousal or stimulation. Many persons with this fetish casually refer to themselves as looners. The fetish itself varies greatly from person to person, some people enjoy only the act of inflation itself or viewing members of their desired sex inflating balloons, while others enjoy the act of popping by various means, while yet others simply find stimulation in the color, clarity, smell, tactile sense, sound, and movement of the balloon itself. There are several known female balloon fetishists, however the vast majority is made up of men.

Before the discovery of HIV/AIDS in the early 1980s, anal sex with and without condoms was not distinguished (in communication) among men who have sex with men (MSMs). While there were STD prevention campaigns that encouraged condom use, most gay men saw a trip to the clinic for antibiotics as an easy solution to any negative consequences. However, as the understanding of pathways for the transmission of HIV/AIDS was further understood, (see HIV for more information); researchers encouraged condom usage as an effective way to reduce HIV transmission.

The gay male community, having been affected the most by this pandemic, mobilized quickly and the practice of unprotected anal sex quickly became taboo within the community. This was the time, when the need for a term to describe the difference between "protected" and "unprotected" sexual acts arose.

Barebacking as a practice is claimed to have become increasingly common again among MSMs in the mid-1990s. Reasons for this belief are widespread, and include correlations based on: an "upswing" in the level of new HIV infections amongst gay men in younger age groups cited by the World Heath Organisation, a more public presence of "bareback" literature, personal ads, and publicity of rebellious attitudes towards the practice.

Barebacking has become a fetish among some in the gay community. In addition to bareback pornography, there are websites and discussion boards on the Internet devoted exclusively to barebacking that feature pictures of men engaged in bareback sex, personal advertisements of men seeking bareback sex with other men and erotic short stories involving barebacking. This subculture has developed its own slang terms, such as "breeding".

Foot torture, variously known as bastinado, falanga (phalanga), and falaka (falaqa), is a form of torture wherein the human feet are beaten with an object such as a cane or rod, a club, a piece of wood, or a whip. It is a form of punishment often favoured because, although extremely painful, it leaves few physical marks, though evidence can be detected via ultrasound technology.

The fetish may be influenced by the sensitivity of the feet, or may conincide with a foot fetish.

Belonephilia is a paraphilia fetish where the sexuoerotic stimulus is associated with sharp objects, such as needles, pins, or blades. This fetishmay be centered around the visual asthetic of the edge/sharp itself, or may be associated with puncturing the skin). (see also: Diatrypophilia)

Bishonen is a Japanese term literally meaning "beautiful youth (boy)". The term describes an aesthetic that can be found in disparate areas in Asia: a young man whose beauty (and sexual appeal) transcends the boundary of sexual orientation. It has always shown the strongest manifestation in Japanese pop culture, gaining in popularity due to the androgynous 'j-rock' or 'visual kei' bands of the 1970s and 1980s, but it has roots in ancient Japanese literature, the homosocial and homoerotic ideals of the medieval Chinese imperial court and intellectuals, and Indian aesthetic concepts carried over from Hinduism, imported with Buddhism to China. Today, bishonen are very popular among girls and women in Japan. Reasons for this social phenomenon may include the unique male and female social relationships found within the genre. Some have theorized that bishonen provide a non-traditional outlet for gender relations. Moreover, it breaks down stereotypes surrounding feminine male characters. These are often depicted with very strong martial arts abilities, sports talent, high intelligence, or comedic flair, traits that are usually assigned to the hero/protagonist

Boot Fetishism, is very closely related to shoe fetishism. In most cases the fetish of the boot is accompanied by a fetish for the material which it is made from. Examples could be leather or latex. In general, boots can be divided into three primary structural categories and sub-divided from there. There are ankle-length, knee-high, and thigh-high boots. Often, the act of boot worship (an act often associated with sexual acts of dominance and submission,) is a key factor in this fetish.

Bukkake is a group sex practice wherein a series of people take turns ejaculating onto someone. There can be strong overtones of erotic humiliation in this practice. Various styles exist, but a common form of bukkake seen in such publications will involve a woman or man sitting, lying down, or kneeling while men (or functional transsexuals) approach to masturbate until they ejaculate on her/his body, primarily on the face or in the mouth. The semen is left on the face as another man repeats the routine.

It is to be assumed that a significant factor in the development of bukkake was the mandatory censorship of porn (porn mosaic) in Japan. Since the directors could not show penetration they had to invent new, visually-appealing ways to approach sex acts that would satisfy the audience without violating Japanese law .

One urban myth purports that the practice originated in feudal Japan as a method of punishing women who had committed adultery.

C
Caninilalia, also known as Dog Play, or Puppy Play is a form of erotic sexual role-play where one or more of the participants takes on the role of a real or imaginary animal in character, including appropriate mannerisms and behavior, and sometimes a partner will act as another animal, or in a sexual context may take the role of rider, trainer or caretaker (or sometimes breeding partner). The principal theme of human-animal roleplay is usually the voluntary or involuntary reduction (or transformation) of a human being to animal status, and focus on the altered mind-space created.

Typically, the fantasy is enhanced by props. The "dog" wears bondage mittens to simulate paws and make him/her more helpless, and has a butt plug with an attached tail to simulate a real tail. He/she should have a collar with a leash. A dog-like hood adds greatly to the authenticity. A gag may be used to stop the "dog" talking and again make him/her more helpless. Bondage may be used to force the "dog" to stay in role, such as binding the legs double with the heels pressed against the buttocks, and/or having chains between the thighs and forearms, to make someone stay on all fours.

Smoking fetishism ("capnolagnia") is a sexual fetish (paraphilia), consisting of the fetishisation of the smoking of tobacco and marijuana. Among heterosexual men, the fetish is often associated with oral fixations and fellatio.

A number of smoking fetish websites and discussion groups dedicated to gay men exist. The smoking fetish in gay men appears to be somewhat different from the general smoking fetish. There seem to be several subgroups of fetishists which differ depending on what aspect of smoking they found arousing. Some involve taking pleasure in watching visually dominant men smoking. For instance, it might include big and hairy men or men in uniform smoking a cigar, although the fetish might not be linked to cigar smoking. Another subgroup involves a fascination of young men smoking (usually cigarettes).

Some of these fetishers appear to be attracted to the "innocent young man" picking up smoking and the rebellious aspects of this action. Some may link this to "growing up" and becoming a real man. The fetish might also involve a fascination with the fact that the lungs of a healthy, clean, pure body of a young man becomes filled with harmful smoke. In some cases the fetish appears to be linked with the fascination with smoke damage - the fetisher might find it arousing that a healthy man will subject himself to the damage of smoking.

In spite of these differences, most gay men smoking web sites do not cater to either subgroup. They just focus on the general aspects of the fetish by posting pictures, novels etc. so the individual user is left to find the items most appealing to him.

Some fetishists have a fascination with the addictive properties of nicotine, and its ability to cause harm, and there is a sub-fetish relating to women or men being harmed by smoking, sometimes called "lung damage". For women this is seen in videos showing women smoking and coughing, suggesting self-destructiveness. More common videos are those showing a woman or a man in bondage, being forced to smoke or to inhale smoke.

"Glamor" smoking and "dark side" smoking are the major divisions within the fetish. The glamor aspect of the fetish emphasizes the way smoking visually enhances women's sexual appeal; the dark side links smoking to female domination, bondage and domination, and sadism/masochism.

Both elements may be related to the appeal of the "bad girl" and the fantasy that even a "girl next door" type who smokes may be a tigress in the bedroom. A handful of producers specialize in videos appealing to one or both sides of the fetish.

The glamorous aspect of women' smoking traditionally has had wide appeal, among the general population as well as among those who find it sexually arousing. This appeal has always been emphasized in cigarette advertising, and undoubtedly one reason young women have been drawn to smoking cigarettes. Historically considered a masculine habit, the feminization of smoking with the advent of fashion brands specifically marketed towards women has drawn the attention of fetishists who see the use of these brands as a way for women to increase or enhance their sexual appeal. Most often this fascination is focused on young fashion-conscious professional women who are the target demographic for these brands, which are differentiated by slimness and added length over traditional brands of cigarettes. Videos for the glamor smoking fetish are typically a model or models smoking, sometimes directly to the camera (representing the viewer) but more often with the camera as an observer. Sub-fetishes may include specific cigarette brands (e.g. Marlboros, Newports), types (corks, lengths), holders (often with the woman wearing gloves), or specific methods of smoking (e.g. smoking multiple cigarettes, nostril exhaling smoke, french inhaling smoke, blowing smoke rings). Additionally, there are a plethora of web sites that have both videos and pictures of (typically) women giving oral sex whilst smoking, as well as in various sex positions, and often being ejaculated on whilst smoking.

The dark side of smoking emphasizes the dominance of the woman smoker, whether in BDSM fetish gear or as the "take charge" sadistic girlfriend. Videos produced for this aspect of the fetish often show a man in bondage with one or more women blowing smoke in his face, "ashing" him, forcing him to eat their ashes, and possibly being burned. Because of its relation to male humiliation and masochism, the dark side of the smoking fetish is most often combined with other fetishes, including corporal punishment. Dark side fetishists also include those whose attraction is to the lit cigarette (as an implement of pain) or to an ashtray of butts (as an object with which to humiliate him).

Celebriphilia is the sexual arousal stimulated by celebrities. This fetish can involve a desire to have sex with celebrities ("star fucker"), or to watch celebrities have sex.

Wax play is a form of sensual play involving warm or hot wax usually dripped from candles or ladled onto a person's naked skin. Wax play may be combined with other BDSM or sexual activity.

Corephilia is the sexual arousal from dancing. This can be associated with the physical movement of dancing, the syncopation of movement to music, or the visual aesthetic of movement. There are some sub-philias associated with the specific type of dance, (i.e. ballet,)

Chrematistophilia is a philia associated with the act of paying for sex. The state of arousal can come from differing aspects, including the self-deprication of having to tender money for intimacy, or the concept that the sexual partner has no physical interest and is engaged solely for profit.

Chronophilia is sexual attraction to specific age ranges. Alphmegamia is the sexual engagement between an older male and younger female. Ageplay is a form of regressive roleplay in which a physical adult takes on the role of a child. This may be purely regressive (in order to re-experience childhood in a non-sexual sense), or sexual (the roleplaying of a child/adult relationship in sex, which may be a sexual fetish and is often grouped within BDSM).

Roleplaying adult/child scenarios sexually is controversial as it can arouse concern in many people's minds, due to the sensitive nature of its subject matter. However as with other sexual fantasy it is not, by itself, necessarily a problem, and can be for some, a healthy or healing outlet, and for others like any fantasy an exploration of different roles and feelings.

Chrysophilia is a philia where gold elicits a sexual response. This is often tied to the value of the precious metal, and can involve insertion of objects made of gold.

Claustrophilia is the state of sexual arousal from being confined in small spaces. This may be associated with cells, boxes, containers, or confined spaces, and often overlaps with bondage and restraint philias.

Condusphilia is a philia associated with condoms, or propholactics. This may involve arousal as the result of interacting with, wearing, or the visual component of condoms.

In recent decades, condom makers have diversified in colors, shapes, and thicknesses. Flavors or designs thought to have stimulating properties are sometimes added. Such stimulating properties include enlarged tips or pouches to fit the glans penis better and textured surfaces such as ribbing or studs (small bumps). Many condoms have spermicidal lubricant added, but it is not an effective substitute for separate spermicide use. Most condoms have a reservoir tip, making it easier to leave space for the man's ejaculate. Condoms also come in different sizes, from magnum to snug.

Condom fetishists are also known to use the condom to collect ejaculate, and is often found in combination with other fetishes involving ejaculate.

Coprophilia (scat) is is the paraphilia involving sexual pleasure from feces. Coprophagia is the consumption of feces, from the Greek copros (feces) and phagein (eat).

Scat can involve the practice of defecating and/or urinating on someone as a BDSM practice, often on that person's face or in that person's mouth to simulate a toilet. This may or may not include some consumption of the material, consumption of which may carry health risks.

Specific human toilet furniture exists for use in the act. Human toilet furniture has some resemblance to smotherboxes. Human toilet furniture has often a different look. A standard toilet seat may be used, as a psychological hint for the intended use.

coprolalia is sexual arousal from verbal humiliation or verbal assault. This is often associated with a humiliation fetish, and can be related to being the speaker or the listener.

Coulrophilia is a sexual arousal related to clowns, mimes, and jesters.

Crurophilia is a sexual philia associated with attraction to legs. Individuals may experience a sexual attraction to a particular area such as the thighs, knees, shins, calves or ankles.

D
Dacryphilia (also known as dacrylagnia) is a form of paraphilia in which one is aroused by tears or sobbing. Dacryphilia is primarily associated with males. The term covers all forms of pleasure from the tears of others. The arousal is achieved when viewing a person in emotional distress. It carries the theme where a person (often a top in a BDSM relationship) induces another (the bottom) to cry, or otherwise show a strong emotion.

Dacryphilia is often the basis of humiliation in the 'pain/restriction/servitude/humiliation' spectrum of BDSM, for example, a dominant verbally abuses the submissive in order to elicit a tearful response. Similarly, a dominant may physically torture the submissive to draw tears in a pain scene. In this way, dacryphilia is a form of sadism.

The psychological aspects of dacryphilia are that the causative entity displays the power to control the psychological response from the receiver. This form of power-play therefore brings pleasure, and for some, sexual arousal. Passive dacryphilia involves a third party who also achieves pleasure in watching someone in emotional distress, usually caused by the scening dominant, though the reason does not restrict the pleasure - a person may enjoy the tears of others despite whatever the cause

Dehuamization is objectification of a person. It occurs when a person is seen as a sexual object when their sexual attributes and physical attractiveness are separated from the rest of their personality and existence as an individual, and reduced to instruments of pleasure for another person.

Sexual objectification may also be considered a means of realizing a sexual fetish; in which a person is assigned, or adopts the status of a fetish object. This may provide erotic humiliation for the person so regarded. As with most BDSM-related activities, it is not considered abusive when engaged in consensually. Allen Jones' "Hat Stand and Table Sculpture", which show semi-naked women in the roles of furniture, are clear examples of the depiction of the fantasy of sexual objectification.

Dendrophilia (or less often arborphilia or dendrophily) literally means "love of trees". The term may sometimes refer to a paraphilia in which people are sexually attracted to or sexually aroused by trees. This may involve sexual contact or veneration as phallic symbols or both.

Depilation affects the part of the hair above the surface of the skin. The most common form of depilation is shaving. Another popular option is the use of chemical depilatories, which work by breaking the disulfide bonds that link the protein chains that give hair its strength, making the hair disintegrate.

Shaving is the removal of hair, by using a razor or any other kind of bladed implement, to slice it down to the level of the skin. Shaving is most commonly practiced by men to remove their facial hair and by women to remove their leg and underarm hair. A man is called clean-shaven if he has had his beard entirely removed.

Hair removal as a fetish can be the result of any number of stumulii, including the feeling of clean shaven skin, the appearance of a hairless body or body part, or as a ritualistic form of punishment, conformity, or humilation.

Acomoclictic defines a preference for hairless genitals.

Dermagraphism is a fetish wherein the fetishist is aroused the abrasion of the skin, usually by use of fingernails. The fetishist may enjoy being scratched, or scratching their partner. Often, the scratching or abrasion is severe, leaving welts, or even sometimes open wounds.

Depending on the severity of the fetish, this may be considered dangerous, since it may do damage to the skin, and puts the fetishist at risk of infection as well as exposure to bloodborne pathogens or disease.

This is a paraphilia fetish where the sexuoerotic stimulus is associated with piercing, (puncturing the skin with a needle). This fetish can encompass the act of piercing others, the act of being pierced, or the aestheitic of piercing jewelry on onesself or other's. In some cases, the fetish centers around permanent piercings, but in most cases, temporary "play" piercings.

Play piercings, needle play, or recreational acupuncture is body piercing done for the purpose of enjoying the experience rather than producing a permanent body decoration. Needles, sharpened bones, or other tools used in play piercing are usually removed from the body when the episode is complete, allowing holes to heal over. Those who engage in play piercing may do so for self-expression, as a part of a ritual imitating mock tribal cultures, for the purpose of spiritual self-discovery, for sexual pleasure, for simple entertainment, raising awareness or relieving boredom.

Play piercing as part of a BDSM scene can produce an intense natural endorphin high which can last for hours and can induce orgasm in many of the people who experience it. The experience of multiple piercings in an erotically or spiritually charged context is qualitatively very different from the experience most people have had with phlebotomists in medical settings, in part because the needle is placed 'through' the skin at a tangent so that both ends are accessible, rather than 'into' the skin.

Play piercing should always be carried out using new sterile hypodermic needles or acupuncture needles, and preferably on skin which has been cleaned with an antiseptic such as alcohol or povidone iodine (which is a potential allergen), by people who have been properly trained. Improper technique can result in the transmission of bloodborne diseases (due to needlestick injuries, for example) or puncture wounds, but if done correctly there is far less danger of injury or infection than from being scratched by a cat due to the depth of insertion being controlled and the use of a sterilized needle.

Needles may be arranged in aesthetically pleasing configurations such as a smiley face, may be laced together like a corset, or may be used to sew on temporary decorations such as bells using sterile thread. Twisting of the needle(s) or pulling them away from the skin will also result a different type of sensation.

A more extreme form of play piercing is flesh hook suspension where a person is suspended vertically or horizontally by two or more hooks through their flesh. This practice is done in some cultures as a rite of passage or as part of a BDSM performance. There are also dance rituals in which flesh hooks attached to multiple people are attached together.

A dildo (or dildoe, a rare alternate spelling) is a sex toy, often explicitly phallic in appearance, intended for bodily interaction during masturbation or sexual intercourse. The fetishist often enjoys the use of such a device on themselves, or others. For the male, anal penetration by a dildo can stimulate the prostate, increasing the physical pleasure of orgasm. Dildo fetishism can involve the use of a dildo on onesself, seeing one used on another, the material the dildo is made of, or a psycholoigcal aspect regarding the dildo's use.

Doll fetish is the fetish of be transformed in to a doll or transforming someone else into a doll. Doll fetish is often played out as a role play between 2 or more people.

When playing out this, the "doll" is often a female or male dressed to look like a perfect little Barbie doll shape. i.e. bold hair, huge breasts, small waist (normally from a very tight corset), high heels and a very revealing outfit made from rubber, latex or spandex.

Dominance and submission, and the inner conflict and surrender connected to these are enduring themes in human culture and civilization as well as human sexuality. Human beings share with many other mammals the instinct to look up to certain individuals who become leaders often through strength of will and personality, and to lead or follow, submit or dominate. In human sexuality this has broadened out to include mutual exploration of roles, emotions and activities (such as sensation play, the exploration of intense physical sensation as an end in itself) which would be difficult or impossible to do without a willing partner taking an opposing role.

As such, D/s is far more subtle than its initial appearance of those who are cruel and want to brutalize, but some people like sensations of pain to an extent. Modern BDSM is very different from this (see #Myths), is based upon a deep ethos of mutual respect and has developed an entire subculture of values and approaches within which such explorations of oneself and ones relationships can take place in a safe, sane and consensual manner within either or both roles.

D/s may be ritualised or freeform. It is usually a negotiated lifestyle, where people discuss their wishes, limits and needs, seeking commonality. As such it may exist within, or separate to, a sexual or marital relationship and indeed in many ways may be considered a form of relationship of its own. This would not be so much because it is sexual, loving or long term (although it may be any or all of these), but because the essential intensity, trust and intimacy within it that are similar to those required to make any deep relationship possible.

There can be any number of partners in a D/s relationship, with one dominant sometimes having several submissives, who may in turn dominate others, or a submissive sometimes may have multiple dominants. Relationships may be monogamous or polyamorous. Romantic love is not necessarily a feature in D/s, partners might be very much in love or have no romantic relationship at all.

Variation in D/s (or BDSM for that matter) is virtually limitless and the activities take many forms, and may include servitude, verbal abuse, erotic humiliation, consensual slavery and sexual slavery and may be combined with other forms of BDSM in myriad combinations. A classic example of D/s is the Sissymaid, where an adult male dresses in cartoonish female clothing and performs stereotypical female chores such as houscleaning or serving tea.

Some D/s relationships are sexual, others completely chaste. Fantasy role play can also be a part, with partners taking classic dominant/submissive roles such as teacher/student, police officer/suspect or parent/child. Animal Play, where one partner takes the role of owner/caretaker and the other takes the part of a pet or animal, can also be D/s play.

Leather fetishism is the name popularly used to describe a fetishistic attraction to people wearing leather, or in certain cases, to the garments themselves.

One reason why leather may be fetishized is perhaps that the garment forms a "second skin" that acts as a fetishistic surrogate for the wearer's own skin. This is heightened by the fact that the leather was originally animal skin. The smell of the leather and the creaking noises it makes is often an erotic stimulus for people who fetishize leather. Leather uniforms are also fetishized. The combination of leather with the uniform's symbolism of authority and power. The organization BLUF is a mostly homosexual group focused on the combination of leather and uniforms.

Leather can also be polished to be shiny and can also be produced in bright colours, adding further visual stimuli to add to the physical sensations produced by the material.

Leather enthusiasts often fantasize about trades where leather clothing is commonly worn. In particular, some leather fetishists fantasize about cowboys or bikers and their leather clothing.

The feel of tight leather garments may also be viewed as a kind of sexual bondage, and much bondage equipment is made out of leather. This led to the term "leather culture" being applied in the 1960s to describe a particular American sadomasochistic subculture.

A philia associated with the desire to engage in sexual congress with a dragon or serpent. This may be associated with anthroporphism.

Dysmorphophilia is sexual arousal arising from deformed, mentally impaired, or physically impaired partners. Teratophilia, (literally "sexual attraction to monsters") is classified as a paraphilia. Rather than view the condition as a kink, defenders of teratophilia believe it allows people to see beauty outside of societal standards. Among other things, it has been suggested that monsters can function as an escapist fantasy for some men and women, since the monster is able to embody masculine attributes without presenting itself as a man, which may embody trauma and terror in extreme cases, or aggravating patriarchal arrangements in the least.

E
In BDSM, gunplay is used to refer to the practice of including actual or sometimes simulated firearms into a scene.

The motivations for this vary significantly among participants with some using it as another method to experience/control fear while others see the power of a weapon as a symbol for dominance since it has often meant just that in history.

is rare that the weapon is loaded during a gunplay scene though a minority of gunplayers do in fact use loaded weapons for this activity. More commonly the gun is part of a mindfuck where the bottom is led to believe that there is a real risk of injury or death when no such risk from discharge exists.

Bottoms who are involved in gunplay scenes often describe how easily one can become fearful about having a weapon pointed at them, even when they know for a fact that the weapon is unloaded. Upon examination it seems not that they are dwelling on the possibility of an error by their top or dominant but that the mind's reaction to a gun is visceral and transcends the logical knowledge of safety issues.

Within the community debate rages over whether the use of a gun in a scene can be safe, sane and consensual under any circumstances, loaded or not and this is one of the reasons why gunplayers and others into edgeplay often identify as risk-aware consensual kinks.

Knifeplay is form of consensual BDSM edgeplay involving knives, daggers, and swords as a source of physical and mental stimulation. Knives are typically used to cut away clothing, scratch the skin, remove wax after wax play, or simply provide sensual stimulation. Knife play is sometimes, but not always, a form of fear play. Knife play can also be a form of temperature play or body modification. The 'victim' in some cases, is shown a sharp implement, and then blindfolded, and a blunt knife used on their skin. Usually sharp knives are used but for certain purposes special dull knives such as an oyster knife or a butter knife may be used for a mindfuck (for example: the practice of insertive sex play without the certain knowledge of the submissive that an exchange of implements—blunt for sharp—has occurred. This is a form of fear play, yet it still maintains safety).

Knife play itself is quite broad. Such scenes can include anything from slowly and sensually scraping wax off a body or moving a blade along the persons skin without cutting them to role play where the fantasy abductor slices off the (willing) victim's clothing. Knife play can also break the skin, either for light scratches or deep cuts meant to scar.

For many knifeplay can be highly erotic, as the physical and psychological reactions can be intense. It is also an activity that takes a great amount of care to learn properly. As with any sort of edge play that can potentially draw blood, there is the risk of passing diseases along. Also, there is the risk of cutting the wrong spot and causing excessive blood loss, or accidental stabbing.

Edging is the act of bringing a sexual partner (or yourself) to the brink (or edge) of orgasm, but stopping the sexual stimulus before orgasm is achived, in repetition.

This act is often combined with a dominant act. The recipient of said activity receives physical pleasure through endorphins, and emotional pleasure via pleasing another. There is also a high level of excitement associated with another focussing so much careful attention on that particularly intimate part of one's anatomy. There may also be social associations regarding controlling said part of the body. The one enacting the activity benefits by enjoying providing such pleasure to the recipient and having that control.

Electrostimulation (also known as E-stim or electrosex), is a human sexual practice involving the application of low current electricity to the body using a special apparatus (such as a TENS unit or Violet wand) for purposes of sexual stimulation. Erotic electrostimulation has been particularly associated with BDSM activities, although its use is becoming more "mainstream." Different sorts of electrodes are used for erotic electrostimulation, such as specially designed vaginal plugs, vulval skin electrodes, anal plugs, cock rings, catheters, cock-and-ball torture (CBT) boards, etc. Electrodes usually require an electrically conductive gel to be applied before use. A large variety of devices are available.

Electrostimulation can cause tissue damage or even death if misused. Even at relatively low current and voltage, the greatest risk is electrocution resulting in heart failure, and is higher for those who use an artificial pacemaker or similar device. Among people who engage in electrostimulation, newcomers are encouraged to research the hazards, limitations, and techniques of this practice and the devices used.

A sexual fetish in which an individual is aroused by vomiting or observing others vomit. When emetophiles put emetophilia into practice by actually vomiting, especially on a partner, it is called a Roman shower, after the supposed frequent induction of vomiting at Roman feasts.

For emetophiles, the sequence of "spasm, ejaculation, relief" in vomiting is erotically charged.

An online site theorizes, "vomiting was probably something either arousing or frightening to emetophiles at some point ... it aroused powerful emotions, and the emetophier called upon these emotions for the purpose of sexual gratification."

Emetophilia may be related to emetophobia, the fear of vomiting. Many emetophiles, ironically, continue to fear vomiting themselves despite the amount of time they spend fantasizing about other people vomiting.

Endymasíaphilia, or cosplay (????), short for "costume roleplay", is a type of performance art whose participants outfit themselves, with often-elaborate costumes and accessories, as a specific character or idea. Characters are usually sourced in various Japanese and East Asian media, including manga, anime, tokusatsu, comic books, graphic novels, video games, and fantasy movies. Other sources include performers from J-pop, J-rock, visual kei, fantasy music stories (such as stories by the band Sound Horizon), novels, and objects from cyberspace or the real world that are unique and dramatic (especially if they have or can be given an anthropomorphic form). Cosplay participants ("cosplayers") form a subculture centered around wearing their costumes and reenacting scenes or inventing likely behavior inspired by their chosen sources. In some circles, the term cosplay has been broadened to include simply wearing a costume, without special consideration given to enacting characters in a performance context.

Endytophilia is a sexual preference for a partner to be clothed rather than naked during sexual intercourse.

The fetish can be based solely on the presence of clothing, or can be specific to the type of clothing being worn, (such as leather, latex, nylon, lycra, etc.)

A penis pump is a cylinder that is fitted over the penis, with a manual or motorized pump to create suction. As the apparatus creates a vacuum around the penis, blood is drawn into the penis, helping it to become engorged. As vacuum increases, the difference between the inner blood-pressure and the pump pressure increases as well. (Excessive pressure causes vascular damage rather than a harder penis.)

While some are drawn to the physical sensation, and others by the BDSM aspects of the pump, (as a form of torture,) penis pumping can be for non-medical reasons, such as: sexual enhancement; a rite of passage; aesthetic reasons; denoting affiliation, trust and loyalty; religious reasons; mystical affiliations; shock value; and self-expression.

Saline solution (sterile 0.9% salt water) can be used to "inflate" body parts -- most commonly, this is the scrotum since, at least in part, it is the easiest to inflate. The penis shaft and breasts (in both men and women) can also be inflated. The saline solution can take a few days to reabsorb. Caution must be taken to ensure that both the saline and the drip tubes and needles are sterile -- if not, a potentially life-threatening infection can easily be drawn inside the body.

While some are drawn to the physical sensation, and others by the BDSM aspects of saline injection, (as a form of torture,) saline injections can be for non-medical reasons, such as: sexual enhancement; a rite of passage; aesthetic reasons; denoting affiliation, trust and loyalty; religious reasons; mystical affiliations; shock value; and self-expression.

An abnormal interest in erotic literature or an obsession with writing love letters or love poems, usually in connection with sexual arousal. (Though, since sexual arousal is the point of erotic literature, this is a sort of philia paradox.)

Erotophonophilia is the sexual arousal deriven from murder. While, in some cases, this fetish never goes beyond the fantasy level, or possibly the roleplaying stage, this fetish is classified as a psychological disorder, and can be dangerous if the fantasy is taken too far, or if the subject begins to consider the possibility of carrying out their desires.

Often, the subject harbors fantasies about killing a specific person, (the object of their lust,) and is often known to be designed as a slow, deliberate murder. It is common for the fantasy to include mutilation of the body after the death. Commonly this type of crime is manifested either by murder during sexual intercourse and/or by mutilating the sexual organs or areas of the victim's body. The mutilation of the victim may include evisceration and/or displacement of the genitalia.

Because the nature of sexual philias and fetishes is to 'get to the next step', and to evolve one's fantasies into reality; any person who harbors a sexual desire to commit murder may become a risk, and should seek psychoanalysis as a precuationary measure.

Though commonly associated with coprophilia, there are a number of fetishists who engage in this fetish independent of feces.

Fart fetishism is the sexual arousal from the scent, or act of releasing gas from the anus.

From a BDSM standpoint, the use of fart fetishism can be used by a dominant to humiliate and subjugate the submissive. In some cases, it can also be used as a reward for the submissive.

Exhibitionism, known variously as flashing, and apodysophilia and Lady Godiva syndrome, is the sexual stimulation involving the exposure of parts of the body to another person. This can also involve the performance of sexual acts in a public place, or a location where one is likely to be seen.

I have listed these under one heading of exhibionism, though there are specific subsets:

  • Agoraphilia is the love of public life, crowds, and activity.
  • Agrexophilia is arousal from others knowing or discovering you are having sex.
  • Autagonistophilia is a paraphilia in which sexual arousal and orgasm are contingent upon displaying one's self in a live show, i.e., being observed performing on stage or on camera.
  • Peodeiktophilia is a sexual paraphilia that involves a sexual arousal that hinges on the surprise, dismay, panic, or shock of a stranger evoked by the exposure of the individual's

In erotic and psycho-sexual terms, Feminization (a.k.a. "sissification") is sometimes used to describe the practice, especially in female dominance, of switching the gender role of a male submissive, (see this semi-explicit reference site). However ,it is also sometimes associated with sexual reassignment, which may be sought by an individual with Gender Identity Disorder (considered separate and more serious than typical tranvestic activities). It is usually achieved through cross-dressing, where the male is dressed in female attire, ranging from just wearing female undergarments to being fully dressed in female attire. Some males take on tasks, behaviours and roles that are overtly feminine, and adopt female mannerisms and postures in task such as sitting, walking and acting in a feminine manner.

A common genre is "forced feminization", when the man is told to put on womens' clothes and instructed how to behave and talk. This emasculation may be coupled with punishments such as spanking or caning to gain cooperation and highten submission of submissive male. In practice the man has consented to, if not paid for, the feminization. Probably the most common modern incident of true "forced feminization" is sexual slavery in prisons (although the rate and severity of prison rape is controversial). For this reason it is not uncommon that men with "forced fed" fantasies also enjoy "prison rape" fantasies; although there may be some hetreosexual men who only have interest in feminization by women. Additionally, descriptive statistics have shown that many homosexual or bi sexual men enjoy gay pornography, with the single exception being feminization or other scenarios that puts women in the "dominate" role.

A gag is sometimes used in consensual BDSM play. Is it also a common prop in bondage erotica.

Some people are sexually aroused by the sight of gags, or activities involving gags. One specific paraphilia relates to video depictions in which the captor gags the damsel in distress to stop her screaming for help. Some people are sexually aroused by such imagery, even if there is no nudity or sexual act present (very rarely, if ever, damsels in distress were raped while bound and gagged, and that usually took place off-screen), or even if the victim is only gagged but not restrained in any way, sometimes going as far as to search video stores and websites for certain scenes.

Other people appear to find that being gagged exacerbates their sense of helplessness within a BDSM scene, and desire to be gagged for that reason. Gags also have connotations of punishment and control, and thus are often also used as a form of humiliation to the wearer. Some people like the fact that when a gag is used, the wearer has no say in what is about to happen. Some fetishists are sexually aroused by the sound gagged people make when they try to speak.

Formicophilia, a form of zoophilia, is the sexual interest in being crawled upon or nibbled by insects, such as ants, or other small creatures.

Sexual objectification refers to the practice of regarding or treating another person merely as an instrument (object) towards the person's sexual pleasure. Objectification is an attitude that regards a person as a commodity or as an object for use, with insufficient regard for a person's personality.

Sexual objectification is common in BDSM play, in which a person is assigned, or adopts the status of a fetish object. This may provide erotic humiliation for the person so regarded. As with most BDSM-related activities, it is not considered abusive when engaged in consensually.

  • Forniphilia as a form of bondage usually involves the subject being tightly bound and expected to stay immobile for a prolonged period.
  • Formophoria is a state of enjoyment as the result of being used as an object or inanimate thing.

XFrotteurism refers to a paraphilic interest in rubbing, usually one's pelvis or erect penis, against a non-consenting person for sexual gratification. It may involve touching any part of the body including the genital area. A person who practices frotteurism is known as a frotteur. The majority of frotteurs are male and the majority of victims are female, although female on male, female on female, and male on male frotteurs exist.

G
Glove fetishism is a sexual fetish fixated on gloves, either as stand-alone items, or while being worn. In some cases, the fetish is enhanced by the material of the glove, (i.e. leather, cotton, latex, satin, or nylon). Many times, the actions of a gloved hand are as arousing as the glove itself, for the glove provides a second skin, or in other words a fetishistic surrogate for the wearer's own skin. Subtle movements by the gloved fingers or hand in whole can provide the individual with a great visual stimulus and ultimately sexual arousal. The act of putting gloves on, or slipping them off the hands can also be a source of glove fetish fantasy. Some people may also just collect gloves due to their appearance also wear them, common ones are leather gloves such as for riding a motorcycle or hockey gloves. Some glove fetishists prefer certain lengths, for example the opera-style ones, while others maybe just cuff length. Some also like them as a part of an outfit, such as the nurse, the police, the maid and so forth. While apart from their appearance some individuals go as far as using them on oneself or others as a form of sexual stimulation. More common for this are usually latex gloves, such as what doctors/nurses use for examination, while others prefer the household rubber glove. The appeal behind the household glove maybe due to the colours they come in but also offering what the latex examination gloves cannot. The household glove are thicker, some more than others depending on what their use is.

Gasmasks can hold a variety of appeals, depending on the person. gasmasks can play a part in breath control, or asphyxiation;. they can also play a visual role, in making a person look machine-like, inhuman, or powerful. gasmasks also envelope a person in the smell of latex, which can be arousing for some. some also use them for the concentrated inhalation of gasses or vapors, such as nitrous oxide (laughing gas), or marijuana smoke.

A form of masturbation that involves edging ("maintaining sexual arousal without reaching orgasm") for a long period of time, resulting in a hypnotic, trance-like state. This is sometimes enhanced with a drug, such as amyl nitrite, nitrous oxide, marijuana, or methamphetamines.

Andromimetophilia is a sexual attraction to transgendered persons, where an individual identifies with a physical sex that is different from their biological one. A medical diagnosis can be made if a person experiences discomfort as a result of a desire to be a member of the opposite sex, or if a person experiences impaired functioning or distress as a result of that gender identification.

While transsexualism, itself, is not a fetish, there are a number of individuals who have a sexual fetish for persons who are transsexual, and/or who have undergone part or all of genrer reassignment surgery.

Andromimetophilia (sometimes misspelled as androminetophilia) is an attraction to women who imitate men or to female-to-male transsexuals, either preoperative or postoperative.

The paraphilic counterpart to andromimetophilia is gynemimetophilia, the attraction to men who imitate women, or male-to-female transsexuals. Scientists have used two technical names for the sexual preference for preoperative male-to-female transsexuals: gynandromorphophilia and gynemimetophilia.

Transsexualism is stigmatized in many parts of the world but has become more widely known in Western culture in the mid to late 20th century, concurrently with the sexual revolution and the development of sexual reassignment surgeries. It remains controversial, however. Discrimination and negative attitudes towards transsexualism often accompany certain religious beliefs or cultural values. There are cultures that have no difficulty integrating people who change gender roles, often holding them with high regard, such as the traditional role for 'two-spirit' people found among certain native American tribes.

A blood fetish (also known as vampire fetish, hematolagnia and haematophilia) is a sexual fetish for blood. Blood fetishists are most often aroused by blood on nude or semi-nude individuals (or indeed their sexual partner). Other blood fetishists are aroused simply by the sight of blood. witnessing accidental or intentional cuts or blood donating are good examples. Only extreme cases are turned on while viewing an extremely gruesome scene. blood fetishism is often accompanied by some licking or drinking blood through bloodletting. This is sometimes done by biting (referred to as "love-bites" though they are technically not) however this is not the norm due to the potential for damage from bruising or infection. Most often a razor blade is used. As well as being a sexual fetish, it is often considered an expression of intimacy or bonding.

There is a substantial community centered around the fetish, however it is mostly "underground" due to its controversial nature. It is partly linked with the vampire subculture, however most blood fetishists do not consider themselves "vampires", though some may have a vampire fetish - blood fetishism has a history of being referred to as "vampirism" in psychiatric literature and articles.

Bloodsports or bloodplay are general terms used for any sexual or BDSM play involving blood. It is considered edgeplay due to its nature of being able to easily spread blood borne diseases. It is also possible, although rare, for the uncareful to cut the person too deeply and cause them to bleed excessively.

Hamartophilia is a state of sexual arousal as a result of sinning, or an unconventional attraction or enjoyment derived from engaging in or exploring sinful behaviors. Derived from two Greek words: “hamartia,” meaning “sin,” and “philia,” meaning “fondness” or “love,” this term captures the alluring attraction that some individuals experience toward wrongdoing. It is crucial to note that hamartophilia goes beyond mere curiosity or occasional misbehavior; it signifies a deep-seated inclination rooted in one’s psyche.

In ancient Greece, the concept evolved within philosophical discourse as thinkers like Aristotle contemplated vices that could lead to self-destruction or societal decay. Similarly, Roman philosophers such as Seneca deliberated on moral transgressions and their consequences for personal well-being.

Pecattiphilia is a fetish where individuals experience sexual arousal from breaking religious rules or committing sins. This fetish is also known as religious fetishism or sacrilagia.

Religious beliefs also played a significant role in shaping the understanding of sin throughout history. In Christianity, for instance, original sin—that inherited from Adam’s disobedience—highlighted humanity’s innate tendency toward evil desires.

This notion laid fertile ground for exploring the complexities of hamartophilia within the context of faith and redemption. The origin and etymology of hamartophilia serve as a reminder that this concept is not a modern invention but rather an age-old fascination.

By delving into its historical roots, we gain a deeper understanding of its implications for human nature, morality, and the human psyche. In the sections to follow, we will further delve into the psychological aspects of hamartophilia, exploring its underlying motivations and desires.

Sexual arousal from mistakes or failures, such as sexual incompetencies.

Haptephilia is a type of paraphilia where an individual experiences sexual arousal by being touched. This can include any type of touch, whether it be a gentle caress or a rough grab. The arousal may be focused on a particular body part or may be generalized throughout the body.

Harpaxophilia is a type of sexual fetishism in which the subject is aroused from being the victim of a robbery or burglary. Tihs fetish is often fulfilled through roleplay, however, some true fetishists have intentionally made themselves attractive to would-be muggers and robbers to fulfill their fetish. (This can be dangerous, since muggings and thefts can result in injury or death.)

Hierophilia or theophilia is the paraphilia involving sexual attraction to religious and sacred objects. The etymology is from the Greek language hieros, meaning sacred or holy.

The religious symbols and interaction vary greatly from individual to individual, however, studies have shown that this practice is most commonly in conjunction with symbols of Christianity and Satanism.

Hirsutophilia is a sexual fetish for bodyhair. Typically, this fetish is related to body hair on a specific portion of the body, and while more commonly applied to the male physique, it also can apply to hair on the female body, (gynelophilia).

Hodophilia is a sexual paraphilia associated witht he act of travelling.

A genuine liking or appreciation for sermons, recognizing their spiritual or intellectual value, and the messages they convey.

The human fascination with sermons dates back to ancient times, where the power of oratory served as a means to impart wisdom, inspire change, and explore deeper existential questions. Apply a bit of sexual fondness for sermons, and this has given rise to a term known as homilophilia.

Hybristophilia is a paraphilia involving sexual interest in and attraction to those who commit crimes. The term is derived from the Greek word hubrizein (?ß???e??), meaning "to commit an outrage against someone" (ultimately derived from hubris ?ß???, "hubris"), and philo, meaning "having a strong affinity/preference for".

Many high-profile criminals, particularly those who have committed atrocious crimes, receive "fan mail" in prison that is sometimes amorous or sexual, presumably because of this phenomenon. In some cases, admirers of these criminals have gone on to marry the object of their affections in prison. In popular culture, this phenomenon is also known as "Bonnie and Clyde syndrome".

Hygrophilia is a sexual paraphilia associated with body fluids, such as ejaculate, vaginal fliud, saliva, sweat, or mucus. The fetish can vary from the act of excreting, physical contact with the moisture, or tasting the fluid, among other acts.

Hypnosis is a state of mind in which a person's conscious critical thinking mind is bypassed and communication with the subconscious mind is established. Although some individuals experience an increase in suggestibility and subjective feelings of an "altered state of consciousness", this is not true for everyone. In fact, some supposed hypnotic indicators and subjective changes can be achieved without relaxation or a lengthy induction, a fact that increases the controversy around hypnosis.

Currently, this fetish can be experienced on its own or in combination with others, like D/s or BDSM. On its own, the hypnofetish involves the use of hypnosis for an erotic thrill, that only a fetish can bring. This should not be confused with hypnotic submission, which is the BDSM or D/s (dominance & submission) version of hypnofetish. Frequently hypnofetish contains BDSM or D/s, being hypnotic submission, and sometimes, they do not.

Erotic asphyxiation, asphyxiophilia, breath control play, or scarfing, is the practice of intentionally reducing the amount of oxygen to the brain during sexual stimulation in order to heighten the received pleasure from orgasm. A sexual partner may or may not be involved, however, if one is excluded the practice can be referred to as autoerotic asphyxiation, or AEA. Various methods are used to achieve the level of oxygen depletion needed such as a plastic bag over the head or self-strangulation, typically by the use of a ligature (scarfing). The increased pleasure results from the body producing more endorphins as it approaches the state of asphyxia. Pleasurable or not, it is an extremely dangerous practice that results in many accidental deaths each year.

Deaths often occur when the loss of consciousness caused by partial asphyxia leads to loss of control over the means of strangulation, resulting in continued asphyxia and death. Victims are often found to have rigged some sort of "rescue mechanism" which has not worked in the way conciousness was lost.

Castration (also referred as: gelding, neutering, orchiectomy, orchidectomy, and oophorectomy) is any action, surgical, chemical, or otherwise, by which a male loses the functions of the testes or a female loses the functions of the ovaries.

This can be considered a type of transformational fetish, or can sometimes be associated with a submissive person who wishes to be wholly submissive, without sexual urge or desire for reciprocation.

Medical fetishism is a paraphilia wherein the activities and devices of medicine are eroticised. Many observers believe that medical fetishism is the result of behavioral imprinting from childhood.

Typical medical fetishism scenarios include intimate examinations such as rectal examination, gynecological examination, rectal temperature taking, catheterization, enemas, injections, the insertion of suppositories, menstrual cups and prostatic massage.[citation needed] Dentistry and teeth are also a source of fetishes. Most noteworthy is dental braces fetishism, which is a form of sexual fetishism wherein a person is sexually aroused or stimulated by the sight, brushing, or feel of dental braces (particularly silver stainless steel braces, but sometimes retainers and headgear). Other medical devices are also fetishized, such as orthopedic casts and orthopedic braces in abasiophilia.

Another form of medical fetishism is surgical fetishism, which eroticises the idea of either performing surgery or having surgery performed on one's self. Even more specific is anesthesia fetishism which involves the procedures and devices used to administer general anesthesia, especially the mask used to administer gaseous anesthesia to a patient. These can be related to hypnofetishism or balloon fetishism (the latter likely because of the balloon-like 'rebreathing bag' often used when administering gaseous anesthesia).

Attempting to carry out medical or medical-like procedures without proper training or sterilization is a highly dangerous activity and could result in serious injury, infection, and death. Performing surgery when unqualified is also highly illegal in most countries.

Human animal roleplay (also called petplay, ponyplay, ponyism or pup-play) is a form of erotic sexual role-play where one or more of the participants takes on the role of a real or imaginary animal in character, including appropriate mannerisms and behavior, and sometimes a partner will act as another animal, or in a sexual context may take the role of rider, trainer or caretaker (or sometimes breeding partner). The principal theme of human-animal roleplay is usually the voluntary or involuntary reduction (or transformation) of a human being to animal status, and focus on the altered mind-space created.

The most common examples are probably canids (pup, dog, wolf), felines (cat, kitten, lion) or equines (pony, horse).

Human-animal roleplay is also used in a BDSM context, where one person may be a 'slave', treated or used as an animal by their Mistress/Master. A human pony is known as a ponyboy or ponygirl.

Like much of erotic play and roleplay, human-animal roleplay in an erotic or relational context is entirely defined by the people involved and by their mood and interests at the time of play. It ranges from the simple imitation of a vocal whinnying of a horse to the barking, panting or playful nudging of a puppy, or playful behaviour of a kitten, to crawling around on all fours and being fed, or petted, by hand. (In the latter instance, its motives may be similar to those of ageplay, ie taking on a role that one feels spiritually appropriate or which allows for nurturing, and a change from usual roles in everyday life). To the greater extremes of dressing up as a pony in modified horse tack, masks, prosthetics and temporary bondage based body modification (such as binding the forearms to the upperarms and/or the calves to the thighs).

K
Stocking fetishism is a sexual fetish relating to women's stockings. Stocking fetishists may particularly find sexual partners clothed in sheer nylon or silk stockings to be sexually stimulating, or find the act of a person donning or removing a pair of stockings arousing. This can also be related to pantyhose fetishism or transvestic fetishism. Some men find it arousing to collect and wear stockings, panties and suspender belts sometimes hidden under a pair of trousers.

Additionally such fetishists may also be divided into many sub-categories relative to their attraction to certain types of stockings. Some find fishnet stockings more arousing compared to other forms of stockings, for example. Other preferences include fully-fashioned (seamed) stockings, seamless stockings, designer stockings, luxury stockings, reinforced heel and toe stockings (RHT), stay-ups, etc.

Katoptronophilia is a paraphilia for mirrors (the Greek word for mirror is katoptron). It may include activities such as having sex in front of mirrors, masturbating in front of mirrors, enacting other paraphilias in front of a mirror, having an orgy in front of a mirror, or enacting stripping fetishism in front of mirrors.

Enacting katoptronophiliac fantasies may involve constructing environments for erotic activity in which one is completely surrounded by mirrors, sometimes including even on the ceiling. A person who is a katoptronophiliac may put mirrors all over their house so they can have sex in any room in the house.

Chav/Charv/Charveror Scally/Scallies are mainly derogatory slang terms in the United Kingdom for a subcultural stereotype fixated on fashions such as imitation gold, poorly made jewellery and fake designer clothing (often Burberry), combined with elements of working class British street fashion. (Their American counterparts might be called 'whiggers' or 'white trash'.) Often associated with a crass, punk-like attitude, and an underclass social stereotype, this fetish is often likened to one of rough trade, or of the skater/punk genre, though the fashion and overlaying concepts of the individual subculture is slightly different.

Keraunophilia refers to an intense fondness or affinity for thunder and lightning. It is a unique psychological disposition that engenders both fascination and attraction towards these awe-inspiring forces of nature. Those who identify as keraunophiles often find solace, inspiration, or excitement in observing thunderstorms, reveling in their majestic displays of raw power.

Kissing can be a fetish... granted, who doesn't like a passionate kiss... but, there are some people who can not orgasm without kissing, and some people who are so aroused by kissing that they can orgasm by the act of kissing alone; also known as kfiliphilia.

Rope bondage is bondage involving the use to rope to tie and wrap the body as part of BDSM activities. Most modern rope bondage techniques derive from the Japanese erotic rope bondage art form of shibari, which was in turn developed from the now-defunct Japanese military restraint technique of hojojutsu.

Kinbaku (??) is the word for "erotic bondage" or Kinbaku-bi which means "beautiful bondage". Kinbaku (also Sokubaku) is a Japanese style of sexual bondage or BDSM which involves tying up the bottom using simple yet visually intricate patterns, usually with several pieces of thin rope usually hemp or jute (generally 6 mm or 8 mm in diameter).

Kinetophilia, derived from the Greek words “kinesis” meaning movement and “philia” meaning love or fondness, defines as an innate attraction towards exercize. The philia can apply to the act of exercize, the "runner's high", increased cario-vascular activity, muscle strain. Alternatively, the individual may endure a sexual arousal from the act of observing the exercize.

Kleptolagnia (from Greek kleptein meaning "to steal", and lagnia meaning "sexual excitement") or alternatively, Kleptophilia, derived from the Greek words “kleptein” meaning “to steal” and “philia” meaning “love, is the state of being sexually aroused by theft. A kleptolagniac is a person aroused by the act of theft. It is also known as kleptophilia, and is a sexual form of kleptomania.

Rather than being driven by impulsive urges or uncontrollable desires like those with kleptomania, they consciously and keenly engage in theft as a means of gratification. The allure lies not in the act itself but rather in the thrill of transgression, pushing the boundaries of societal norms and experiencing an adrenaline-fueled rush unparalleled by any other activity.

Klismaphilia is the sexual act of introducing liquids into the rectum and colon via the anus.

Enemas can be carried out for medical reasons (as a treatment for constipation), as part of alternative therapies, and also for erotic purposes, particularly as part of BDSM activities. In earlier times, they were often known as clysters. This is often associated with anal stimulation and/or prostate stimulation.

Enema fetishism can be based on the physical stimulation, the medical paraphilia, as an act of sumbission or humiliation, or as a simple preparation and cleaning for more involved anal play.

Tickling fetishism is a paraphilia in which participants derive sexual stimulation from tickling, or being tickled by, another person. Erotic tickling may involve the physical restraint of a submissive by a dominant. Although some consider it a BDSM activity, tickling is not fully recognised by the community and is relatively unknown in the mainstream.

In dominance and submission scenarios, sexual partners may agree upon a safeword to signal that the tickling should stop.

Different individuals may find tickling of virtually any region of the body to be pleasurable, and this fetish can also involve excitement just from watching others being tickled.

Most adults are known to enjoy tickling, either participating or watching. It can play a part in courting rituals, especially among younger people, and can therefore be considered part of foreplay for many partners in the term's broadest sense. However, people who claim to have a tickling fetish are likely to enjoy this acivity to the exclusion of other pre-sex activities. For some, the focus is entirely on the tickling, with full intercourse less important or not included at all. People whose sexuality is based almost solely on tickling can be said to have a tickling fixation. This fixation may also exist outside of sexual contexts.

Felching is a sexual practice in which semen is sucked out of another person's vagina or anus after ejaculation. The individual sucking the semen may swallow it or pass it, mouth to mouth, to a partner. The colloquial term for the latter act is snowballing, or the less-used term squeegeeing.

(A 'creampie' typically refers to a vagina filled with semen, bu tcan also be a synonym for the act of felching.)

Latex fetishism is the fetishistic attraction to people wearing latex clothing, or in certain cases, to the garments themselves. Sometimes this is called rubber fetishism also, as latex is closely-related to rubber (the latter usually being thicker and less shiny, more matte). Latex or rubber fetishists sometimes refer to themselves as "Rubberists". Gay Rubberists tend to call themselves "Rubbermen".

One reason why latex, and other tight shiny fabrics may be fetishised is perhaps that the garment forms a "second skin" that acts as a fetishistic surrogate for the wearer's own skin. Thus, wearers of skin-tight latex or PVC garments may be perceived by the viewer as being naked, or simply coated in a shiny substance like paint. Latex and PVC can also be polished to be shiny and can also be produced in bright colours, adding further visual stimulus to add to the physical sensations produced by the material. The tightness of the garments may also be viewed as a kind of sexual bondage. The smell of latex rubber is also a turn-on for some rubber fetishists, and such garments are usually impregnated with chemicals to enhance the odour. Rubberists also enjoy the idea of exhibitionism and some fantasise about going out in public wearing fetish attire. Some do this, especially in the more liberal areas (Berlin, New York, San Francisco, etc).

A compelling reason that people are turned on by wearing rubber is its transformative abilities. As with any costume, a rubberist can imagine themselves having a new identity, especially one that permits a different code of behavior.

Some latex enthusiasts are also turned on by the wearing of draped latex garments such as cloaks. Other rubber paraphernalia, such as wet suits, gas masks, splash suits, Mackintoshes, galoshes and Wellington boots, are also often added to the scenario. Heavier fetishists often attempt duplicating all kinds of "everyday wear" into a rubber counterpart. Some PVC enthusiasts are turned on by PVC Hazmat suits and other forms of industrial protective clothing.

Latex fetishism often involves dressing up in the material, or looking at it worn by sexual partners, or fantasies about wearers of skin-tight or other latex garments, such as divers and workers wearing industrial protective clothing. Another common stereotype of is the image of a dominatrix wearing a skin-tight latex or PVC catsuit, usually jet-black.

For hygienic reasons, many sex toys such as dildos and butt plugs are made from rubber or similar materials, and this is also a factor in rubber fetishism. Some rubber fetishists are also medical fetishists or have an interest in klismaphilia - medical gloves and catheters are made from latex, as well as condoms.

Kopophilia is a sexual philia associated with physical exhaustion. This fetish is often associated with the sensation of being immobile and vulnerable. It can incorporate sore and tired muscles, aspects of physical control, and hypnosis.

Because sexual acts often end in a sense of exhaustion, and many fetishes yield a physical exertion, it is easy to associate the euphoria and physical exhaustion associated with these acts as a sexual act in itself.

Tightlacing (also called corset training and waist training) is the practice of wearing a tightly-laced corset to achieve extreme modifications to the figure and posture and experience the sensations of a very tight corset. Those who practice tightlacing are called tightlacers. Some tightlacers call the corsets they wear training corsets. Other corset fetishists are attracted to this fetish because of the aesthetic quality of the corset, or associate the fetish with the material the corset is constructed of, such as leather or latex.

Mask fetishism is a desire to see a subject wearing a mask or taking off a mask. The mask may be a Halloween mask, a surgical mask, ninja mask, a latex mask, or any other kind of mask. A similar fetish for women wearing Muslim or harem veils is veil fetishism.

There are many kinds of bondage hoods. A full-face hood is designed to cover the head completely in the manner of a mediaeval executioner's mask, and thus has an opening at the back to extend the neck hole. This opening may be closed up with a zip or cord. (Spandex hoods are often stretchy enough to go on without any extension of the neck hole.) Other optional openings include two eye holes (sometimes these can be closed using zips, as in an episode of the TV show, Family Guy), nostril openings, and a mouth opening (which is often closed with a zip or used by a gag that goes over the hood).

Spandex hoods are see-through, so a blindfold is also required if the intention is to keep the person from seeing. Darlex lets very little light through, and the other materials allow virtually no light through at all (though some may get in through breathing holes for the mouth and nostrils and/or poor eye zips).

Hoods can also be complemented by a gag or a mouth dildo, mouth or nostril tubes channelling respiration or even a funnel and tube system allowing forced drinking of any liquid poured in the funnel, such as urine (compare Funnel gag).

Wearing a hood is potentially extremely dangerous, as blocking all access to air will result in rapid asphyxiation. The safety warnings regarding gags also apply. It is wise to use a hood with a mouth hole and a gag over the hood that can be removed quickly.

There are also similar tight-fitting open-faced hoods, which are much safer to use because they do not obstruct the wearer's breathing. One of the most popular kinds is the "ponygirl" hood. This covers the wearer's entire head and neck with a large opening in front that frames the face in the manner of a medieval wimple or traditional nun's habit.

The open-faced hood, which fits snugly over the head much like a swimming cap, sometimes tapers down at the center of the wearer's forehead in a curved V-shape, thus creating a kind of heart-shaped frame for the face.

These hoods may have a small opening at the top, allowing lengthy strands of the wearer's hair to be tightly gathered, threaded through and left hanging down the back of the head as a ponytail, possibly for use in hair bondage. Other hoods of this type have no such opening for hair and instead feature a plume made of artificial hair protruding from the top and down the back of the head as a kind of decorative mock-ponytail. Using these for hair bondage may result in the ponytail breaking off.

Bondage hoods are most notably used in BDSM, their function being to objectify the wearer as well as providing sensory deprivation, and thus reduce them to the status of a sexual toy, rather than a sexual partner, as part of a scene. A rigid, tight-fitting hood (which typically means leather or latex) greatly reduces a gagged person's ability to make any noise at all. Ponygirl bondage hoods are often an essential fetish garment for BDSM ponyplay. Hoods are also used in head bondage.

A hood can also serve the function of disguising someone's identity when desired, for example at play parties. Tight-fitting open-faced bondage hoods are sometimes worn by dominatrices to depersonalize and erotically objectify the wearer, projecting an image of intimidating sexual power and superiority. Some feel that the aesthetic appeal of these open-faced hoods in BDSM lies in the way that they define the shape of the wearer's head with a smooth, shiny, luxuriant form-fitting fabric.

L
Erotic lactation refers to an adult's sexual arousal from being breastfed. Depending on the context, the terms adult suckling, adult nursing, and adult breastfeeding can refer to the practice.

Some women experience sensual pleasure from pumping milk from their breasts or expressing milk manually—with or without a partner. In addition to the sensual pleasure, women have reported feeling more feminine while producing milk and continue with lactation after weaning a baby for emotional or sensual reasons.

In a BDSM context, milking may be used as a reward for a submissive partner, or as a form of dominance when milk is taken from a submissive female.

For purposes of classification, I have seperated latex/rubber gloves from other glove fetishes on this site because latex gloves typically used as part of other philias, such as a medial fetish.

Disposable latex medical examination gloves are the most common among fetishists. These gloves are also sometimes made of nitrile, or vinyl.

Glove fetishism is a sexual fetish where an individual is obsessed and fixated by another or oneself wearing gloves on their hands. In the case of latex gloves, the fetish is enhanced by the material of the glove.

Some glove fetishists prefer certain lengths, for example the opera-style shoulder length, while others maybe just cuff length. Some also like them as a part of an outfit, such as the nurse, the doctor, housekeeper, etc.

While apart from their appearance some individuals go as far as using them on oneself or others as a form of sexual stimulation. Some have a fetish for a specific type of glove, such as household dish gloves. The appeal behind the household glove maybe due to the colours they come in but also offering what the latex examination gloves cannot. The household glove are thicker, some more than others depending on what their use is.

Fat fetishism is a sexual fetish in which sexual pleasure is derived from oneself or one's parter being overweight or obese. The weight ranges from being only mildly overweight or so obese as to be immobile and unable to walk. However, some argue that this is not a fetish and is simply a preference - as is liking, for example, women with large breasts or blonde hair.

The homosexual and heterosexual communities tend to parallel each other. In a basic fat fetish relationship, one or both partners are overweight. Often, the thin partner takes a dominant role due to the other's reduced mobility.

The relationship becomes more complex if feederism is involved.

Fat fetishism may at times overlap with breast fetish (especially large breasts), breast expansion fetish, inflation fetish and pregnancy fetish.

The fondling of the adipose tissue of an overweight or obese person for one with a fat fetish is usually sexually arousing and is often similar to that of mammary intercourse. They may be aroused by the presence of a pannus or other hanging flaps of skin such as those on the thighs, arms, back and other places. For those aroused by an obese male, the presence of fat under the chest simulating breasts (also known as "man boobs") is arousing.

The issue of erotic weight gain has caused a collision, at least in a heterosexually-dominated realm, between the goals of fat acceptance (represented by NAAFA and others) and feederism, which some contend are not mutually exclusive interests/movements. One argument mobilized against the feeder movement is that sexuality is privileged over social movements toward fat acceptance, and direct criticisms usually entail the possibility that feederism contributes to a counter-productive objectification and dehumanization of the "feedee". Feeders/feedees and sympathetic FAs argue that most members of their community partake of this fetish only in the realm of fantasy and are more than mindful of rational boundaries. Also present is a belief that the sexualization of fat is not as pernicious as its detractors claim, and that if the "Fat Admirer" or "Chubby-Chaser (male)" archetypes become more visible or mainstream, fat will thus lose a major aspect of its general social and cultural stigma.

Spandex fetishism is a fetishistic attraction to people wearing stretch fabrics or, in certain cases, to the garments themselves. One reason why spandex and other tight fabrics may be fetishised is that the garment forms a "second skin," acting as a fetishistic surrogate for the wearer's own skin. Wearers of skin-tight nylon and cotton spandex garments can appear naked or coated in a shiny or matte substance like paint. The tightness of the garments may also be seen as sexual bondage. Another reason is that nylon-spandex fabric (preferred by many spandex fetishists) is often produced with a very smooth and silk-like finish, which lends a tactile dimension to the fetish - as well as a visual one.

In comic books, superheroes, superheroines, and supervillains are generally depicted as wearing costumes made of spandex or a similar material. The superheroines always wear skintight, very flashy and bright-coloured costumes that usually cover only just enough of the female body to be presentable. Fantasies involving superheroes or the wearing of superhero costumes are commonly associated with spandex fetishism.

Marcogenitalism is arousal from large genitals. This can stem from a fascination with the unusually large genetils themselves, as well as insertion fetishism, lactation fetishism for overly large breasts, spanking fetishism for unusually large ass cheeks, etc.

Macrophilia refers to a fascination with or a sexual fantasy involving giants, most commonly expressed as giantesses (female giants), as well as giant objects. It is typically believed to be a male fantasy, with the male playing the smaller part; however, people with any background can have it.When the smaller part is male, they may be depicted as entering, being dominated by, or being eaten by the larger woman.Generally, depictions range from sexually explicit actions to non-sexual interactions while still providing sexual stimulation for those with the fantasy.

Online communities refer to this subculture as macro fetish or GTS fetish, an abbreviation of "giantess" and sometimes the backronym "giant tiny sex".

Although macrophilia literally translates to simply a "lover of large", in the context of a sexual fantasy, it is used to denote attraction to beings larger than themselves. Males who are attracted to larger females are known as Amazon chasers.Generally, the interest differs between macrophiles, and depends on gender and sexual orientation. Macrophiles often enjoy the feel of being physically smaller, ranging from sadomasochistic fantasies such as being abused, degraded, dominated, or eaten,to friendly fantasies such as being rescued, protected and befriended by the larger, typically heroic female, and they often view the much taller being as powerful and dominating.

Psychologist Mark Griffiths speculates that the roots of macrophilia may lie in sexual arousal in childhood and early adolescence that is accidentally associated with giants, often brought about by toys of differing sizes.

Pregnancy fetishism (also known as maiesiophilia or maieusophoria) is a term used to describe the contexts in which pregnancy is seen by individuals and cultures as an erotic phenomenon. It may include the sexual attraction for women who are pregnant or appear pregnant, the attraction to lactation, or an attraction for the stages of pregnancy such as impregnation or giving birth.

There are no particular or preferred elements within maiesiophilia that are common to all maiesiophiliacs. Some may pursue fantasies that are concerned with the circumstances in which a subject may give birth, or to the conditions to which the pregnant subject may find themselves acting upon, such as approaches to mobility, sleeping, and dressing. Particular areas and processes of the body that change during pregnancy may also become the focus of psychological investment, but nudity or sexual activity is not always essential, and in some cases actual pregnancy is not necessary to invoke arousal. In these cases, the appearance of an enlarged abdomen caused by obesity or overeating may be sufficient, or simply the suggestion of a protruding navel.

A sexual fetish (philia) involving sexual attraction to the arm pit, (where underside where the arm meets the shoulder.) This fetish can involve a number of factors and senses, the act of genital contact, but the olfactoral (smell) and visual are the most common sensory factors involved.

The natural body smell is a powerful force in sexual attraction, and can be focused by the strong pungent odor of the armpit: Alex Comfort considered that for a woman to shave her armpits was “simply ignorant vandalism”, obliterating a powerful sexual tool, and praised the French for greater sexual awareness than American deodorant culture in this regard.

A woman's armpits, armpit hair, and secretions can be seen as essential components of their femininity, whether this is positively or negatively valued. Physician Havelock Ellis found evidence that (in a non-sexual context) smelling one's own armpit could act as a temporary energy boost.

Certain pheromones found in armpit sweat, namely androstadienone is shown to improve mood when smelled or licked according to a 2013 study.

Those who have a mild fetish for armpits often enjoy licking, kissing, tasting, tickling and smelling their partner's armpits during sexual foreplay, perhaps asking partners not to shower or wash their armpits nor wear deodorant for a period of hours or even days.

The symbolic equation of armpit and vagina may underpin the fetish, as also the odor.

Bagpiping is a sexual practice in which the penis is stimulated by someone else's armpit. The name comes from the manner of how bagpipes are played.

Stressing the importance in bagpiping of the (unlubricated) friction being confined to the penile shaft, Alex Comfort saw armpit intercourse as "Not an outstandingly rewarding trick but worth trying if you like the idea".Problems may, however, arise in a relationship when penis to armpit contact becomes an exclusive sexual necessity for the armpit fetishist – something which can produce long-term sexual desire disorder in a couple.

Masochism the tendency to derive pleasure, especially sexual gratification, from one's own pain or humiliation. This can involve gaining sexual pleasure from pain or humiliation, but it can also refer to situations where people seek out or enjoy activities that create distress, discomfort, or pain.

Masochism is associated with BDSM, an acronym for sexual practices that involve bondage and discipline, dominance and submission, and sadism and masochism. A sexual masochist experiences sexual pleasure in response to pain, denial, or humiliation.

However, masochism can also apply to more general and often less healthy behaviors. In such cases, a masochist might engage in actions or accept treatment from others that are hurtful, degrading, or physically or emotionally painful that cause the individual to feel anxiety, depression, guilt, shame, or other distressing feelings.

There are four forms of masochism which are commonly accepted:

  • Sexual:This involved a sexual pleasure in the act of involving pain.
  • Psychological:his is a non-sexual type of masochism that involves deriving enjoyment from experiencing psychological pain. Such pain can be self-inflicted or caused by others.
  • Moral:This is a form of masochism that involves invoking suffering to alleviate feelings of guilt. It can involve self-punishment and may represent a form of guilt complex, but it can also involve self-sacrificing, prosocial, or altruistic acts that benefit others.
  • Adaptive:This type of masochism involves deriving pleasure from temporary periods of pain or discomfort that ultimately lead to some delayed gratification. For example, a person might save a favorite treat to enjoy later because they enjoy the agony of anticipation.
The only way to truly tell that someone is a masochist is if they tell you directly that it is something they enjoy. You might pick up on certain cues if you are their sexual partner, but the only way to know is if that person chooses to tell you.The exact causes of masochism are not entirely clear. Different types of masochism may have differing causes and more research is needed.

One theory about the source of masochistic tendencies may be traced to childhood.

The roots of a masochistic or "self-defeating personality" may be a result of an early struggle of will between a developing child and parents determined to maintain control of the child at any cost.

Parents who demand complete obedience and compliance do not allow room for a child to have their own needs, opinions, feelings, and desires. Love and acceptance is conditional and when taken to an extreme, controlling parents may chastise, abuse, and humiliate the child, threatening abandonment or worse punishment if the child does not comply.

Raised in this environment, children may respond by holding onto their hurt and resentment, wishing to fight back against their parents but lacking the ability or power to do so. This desire for pain, punishment, or revenge may be redirected internally, with the child punishing themselves. The controlling or critical behavior of a parent may become an internalized voice of a bullying and self-defeating inner critic telling the child that they deserve the treatment they are receiving.

As an adult, this can continue in a self-defeating way, or these impulses may be sexualized and expressed in the context of a consensual, communicative, and mutually respectful BDSM relationship.

Mastigophilia is a paraphilia in which an individual experiences sexual arousal from being whipped, flogged, or otherwise physically punished. This can include both pain and humiliation inflicted on oneself.

Mastigophilia is often associated with a desire for control or submission. For some individuals, the act of being punished can be cathartic and provide a sense of release. Mastigophilia can also be linked to a desire for intense sensations and the release of endorphins that can result from pain.

Often associated with this act is spanking, flogging, canes, whips, paddles, floggers, crops, etc.

SFX (or Special Effects) contact lenses are cosmetic lenses placed on the cornea of the eye to modify the appearance of the eye, often to something non-human. Common lenses include white eyes, cat eyes, vampire eyes, etc.

The fetish for people wearing these lenses often is practiced in combination with another fetish, such as vamprism, transformation, gothic sexuality or roleplaying.

Megalophilia is a paraphilia in which an individual is sexually aroused by large objects. This can include anything from buildings and monuments to oversized furniture and vehicles. It is important to note that megalophilia is not necessarily related to fat fetishism or feederism, as the focus is on the size of the object rather than the size of a person’s body.

The exact causes of megalophilia are not fully understood, but it is believed to be related to a person’s desire for power and control. The attraction to large objects may represent a desire to dominate or be dominated by something that is larger than oneself. Additionally, megalophilia may be linked to childhood experiences or trauma, such as feeling small or powerless in certain situations

Menophilia is the fetish for a menstruating woman. The fetish may include the act of drinking the blood, or interacting with the menstuating vagina through act of oral or penetrative sex.

Some are attracted to the psychology of the capabilities of a woman's body to produce life, while others are aroused by the societal taboo. Sex during menstruation can help with some of the symptoms like cramps and emotional turmoil caused by hormonal fluctuations.

Merinthophilia is a sexual arousal from the state of being bound, or tied up, often with rope, string, straps, or belts. The origin of the word merintho is Greek (meaning string).

Beyond the restraint, bondage sex also involves a consensual power dynamic between a dominant and submissive partner. However, it is also possible for a person to practice self-bondage during masturbation.

Evidence suggests that 58.9% of males and 54.4% of female BDSM practitioners list bondage sex as one of their favorite BDSM activities. Additionally, a 2015 study investigating females in the kink community adds that bondage is a preferable activity, with more than 85%Trusted Source of individuals indicating they participate in bondage for sensual or erotic pleasure.

A 2021 systematic review notes that BDSM interactions are complex, and several psychological, social, and biological processes can influence this sexual behavior.

A 2019 systematic scoping review suggests that it allows people to assert dominance by giving them total control and power over the situation. Similarly, a 2020 study notes that many practitioners find the giving, taking, and exchanging of power to be sexually arousing.

Additionally, the study adds that playing with interpersonal power through the exchange of power via physical restraint is one of the most common reasons people engage in bondage practices. Others note that they may compare bondage to an eroticized way of practicing mindfulness, similar to meditation or other general leisure activities, as it allows them to relax and practice a form of focused attention.

A 2019 study also adds that the brain’s pain and reward systems can influence why people enjoy BDSM. As pleasure and pain may activate the same part of the brain, engaging in these practices may help to enhance pleasure.

Transformation fetish is a form of sexual fetishism in which a person becomes sexually aroused by descriptions or depictions of transformations, usually the transformations of people into other beings or objects. It can be considered a paraphilia. Most transformation interests are not paraphilia-based, typically having their roots in mythological or literary accounts of transformation.

Miscegenation is associated with the attraction to people of different races. The word, now usually considered pejorative, is derived from a combination of the Latin terms miscere ('to mix') and genus ('race' or 'kind').The term has been abandoned, except in fetish circles because of its implications in relations to a BDSM/power play scenario, where one race is considered superior to another.

Concepts of race and sexuality have interacted in various ways in different historical contexts. While partially based on physical similarities within groups, race is understood by scientists to be a social construct rather than a biological reality.

Fetishism can take multiple forms and has branched off to incorporate different races. The theories of naturalist Darwin can offer some observations in regards to why some people might find other races more attractive than their own. Attraction can be viewed as a mechanism for choosing a healthy mate. People's minds have evolved to recognize aspects of other peoples' biology that makes them an appropriate or good mate. This area of theory is called optimal outbreeding hypothesis.

"Biker" fetishism is often a form of leather fetishism, but is specific to the garments worn as protective gear for the sport of racing or motorcross, leather or otherwise.

While this fetish is not always specific to leather clothing, it often includes it. Leather can also be polished to be shiny and can also be produced in bright colours, adding further visual stimuli to add to the physical sensations produced by the material, which is typical of the garments worn in sport.

Additionally, sports biker gear includes helmets, boots, armour and padding, which is unique to the sport. This fetishism can overlap with sports gear fetishes, odor associated with the boots or gear, and other sensory experience.

"Biker" fetishism is often a form of leather fetishism, but is specific to the garments worn as protective gear for the sport of racing or from injury during street riding, such as padding, helmets, boots, or armoured clothing.

One reason why biker protective gear may be fetishized is perhaps that the garment forms a "second skin" that acts as a fetishistic surrogate for the wearer's own skin. The smell of protective leather and the creaking noises it makes is often an erotic stimulus for people who fetishize leather. Protective gear can also be produced in bright colours, adding further visual stimuli to add to the physical sensations produced by the material, which is typical of the garments worn in racing. This fetish can also be associated with the concept of a biker being a societal outcast or 'bad boy', overlapping a dominant/submissive or control fantasy.

Mucophilia is the sexual arousal from mucus emitted from the oral or nasal cavities, such as saliva (spit), or 'snot'. The fetish can involve the consumption of, the expulsion of mucus onto the body, or the act of being made to excrete mucus.

IN a BDSM context, the submissive may have mucus expelled onto them as a form of punishment, or humiliation, or debasement. In contrast, submissives who are erotically stimulated by mucus may have mucus provided by the dominant as a reward.

Mysophilia is obtaining sexual arousal and gratification by filth or a filthy surrounding, such as mud, quicksand, etc. The fetish may involve the mud or 'substance of filth' being deliberately applied to the skin, clothes, or can involve performance of sexual acts in the substance.

N
Narratophilia is a sexual fetish, in which the telling of dirty and obscene words or stories to a partner is sexually arousing. The term is also used for arousal by means of listening to obscene words and stories.

In many cases, this fetish involves use of 'dirty language' during foreplay or intercourse to describe, in explcit detail, what the person would like their partner to do to them, or what they would like to do to their partner. It also commonly involves reinforcement during the sexual act

Nose fetishism, nose partialism, or nasophilia is the partialism (or paraphilia) for the nose. This may include the sexual attraction to a specific form of physical variation of appearance (such as shape and size), or a specific area (for example; the bridge or nostrils). The fetish may manifest itself in a desire for actual physical contact and interaction, or specific fantasies such as the desire to penetrate the nostrils with a penis or with a finger (comparable with fingering).Nose fetishism can also include the desire to ejaculate into the nostrils or onto the nose. Some people with this fetish masturbate while looking at someone with a nose they find extremely attractive. Some people with this fetish also enjoy pinching someone's nose so that they open their mouths to breathe.

Other fantasies may include the desire to observe or experience a transformation of a nose with reference to an element of a fictional work such as Pinocchio, or ideas concerning the transformation of the nose into that of another creature's like a pig's snout as a means of sexually humiliating a partner or acquaintance, (sometimes achieved with a bondage device known as a nose hook). These fantasies may be assisted with use of props, role-play or transformation fiction, in the form of writing, artwork, or modified photographs of people (known as morphing).

Necrophilia, also called thanatophilia and necrolagnia, is the sexual attraction to corpses.

Rosman and Resnick (1989) reviewed information from 34 cases of necrophilia describing the individuals' motivations for their behaviors: these individuals reported the desire to possess an unresisting and unrejecting partner (68%), reunions with a romantic partner (21%), sexual attraction to corpses (15%), comfort or overcoming feelings of isolation (15%), or seeking self-esteem by expressing power over a homicide victim (12%).

While most countries have federal laws which make this act illegal, many were enacted within more recent years, (the United Kingdom for example, enaced the legislation in 1993,) and the United States has no federal legislation which specifically prohibits sex with a corpse, although most states have their own laws forbidding the practice. Almost every country, however, has laws regarding the desicration of a grave, cemetery, or place of burial.

There is a broad spectrum of necrophilic behaviours, ranging from fantasies alone to murder for the sake of procuring a dead body. Experts have subcategorized the paraphilia according to where it falls on that spectrum.

"Necrophilic fantasies" of corpses, never acted upon, still fall within the scope of necrophilia and some authors have categorized this as a "neurotic equivalent" to necrophilia.

"Pseudonecrophilia" describes isolated incidents where the sexual contact with the corpse may happen without pre-existing fantasies or desire to have sexual contact with the body.

Even in its truest form, necrophilia can be quite varied, ranging from simply being in the presence of a corpse to kissing, fondling or performing sexual intercourse or cunnilingus on the body.

The presence of other paraphilias or personality disorders, however, can manifest in more grotesque or sadistic elements such as mutilation of the corpse, drinking the blood or urine, or homicide ("necrophilic homicide" or "necrosadism"). The latter is the most disturbing end of the spectrum.

Because the nature of sexual philias and fetishes is to 'get to the next step', and to evolve one's fantasies into reality; any person who harbors a sexual desire of a necrophiliac nature may become a risk, and should seek psychoanalysis immediately to be on the safe side. (42% of those who fulfill their necrophiliac desires commit murder to achieve their fantasy.)

Neoprene fetishism is the fetishistic attraction to people wearing neoprene clothing, or in certain cases, to the garments themselves.

Neoprene is most commonly found in wetsuits, and the fetish has been none to be exclusive to wetsuits in many cases. Wetsuits come in different thicknesses depending on the conditions for which it is intended. The thicker the suit, the warmer it will keep the wearer. Because wetsuits offer significant protection from jellyfish, coral and other hazards, many divers opt to wear a thin suit which provides minimal insulation (often called a "bodysuit") even when the water is warm enough to comfortably forgo insulating garments. A thick suit is stiff, so mobility is restricted; at a certain thickness the suit would become impractical, which is why drysuits must be worn in particularly cold environments. A wetsuit is normally described in terms of its thickness. For instance, a wetsuit with a torso thickness of 5 mm and a limb thickness of 3 mm will be described as a "5/3". Some suits have extra layers added for key areas such as the lower back.

Different shapes of wetsuit are available, in order of coverage:

  • A sleeveless vest, covering only the torso, provides minimal coverage. Some include an attached hood. These are not intended to be worn alone, but rather as an extra layer over or under a longer wetsuit. A jacket covers the torso and arms, with little to no coverage for the legs. Some jackets have short leg sleeves like a shorty, others feature leg holes similar to a women's swimsuit. A third style, the beavertail, which was quite popular until the 1980s, had a flap which closed over the crotch and attached at the front with a fastener.
  • A shorty or spring suit covers the torso and has short sleeves for the arms and legs. There are also forms of spring suits with long arms and short legs.
  • A long john or farmer john/jane (depending on the gender the suit is designed for) covers the torso and legs only; it resembles a bib-and-brace overall, hence the nickname.
  • A full suit or steamer covers the torso and the full length of the arms and legs.
  • A mermaid suit covers the torso and the full length of arms and legs but it is unbifurcated - it couples the legs together into a tail like a mermaid's tail which ends with a monofin. Although it restricts movement and makes walking impossible, it has better hydrodynamic properties than a suit with separate legs. Despite the name, the mermaid suit is equally used by men and women.

Paraphilic infantilism is a paraphilia characterized by the desire to wear diapers, due to reasons other than medical necessity, and/or be treated as an infant[1] or toddler.

This is a paraphilia fetish where the sexual stimulus is provided by the act of viewing or wearing raver or clubwear clothing, or the psychological influence of the personae and/or atmosphere which is commonly associated with the sub-culture.

This fetish can overlap into other fetishes specific to the materials of the clothing, the use of drugs to alter the sensory experience, among numerous others.

Nyctophilia is a term that describes a strong preference or attraction for darkness or night. The absence of light and noises at night is both comforting and mysterious. It’s in the darkness when we turn inwards and ponder about big questions. It’s the shadows that make us question the reality and wonder about things that are beyond our everyday happenings. This mystery, vastness, or sensory experience can be associated with a physical arousal state ny nyctophiliacs.

O
Ochlophilia is a sexual arousal brought about by crowds or crowded places. This can be associated with the physical proximity to other people, the sense of being one person among many, the sensory experience of sound or smell, among other aspects.

Oculophilia is the sexual arousal associated with eyes. It often manifests itself in the form of oculoinctus, (also known as "worming" or eyeball-licking,) the act of licking an eyeball for sexual gratification.

A rise of this occurred in Japan in the mid 2010's, where it was referred to as Gankyu name purei (???????, "eyeball licking play"), causing a significant rise in eye infections, ossibly due to it being featured in a music video by the Japanese band Born.

The practice is associated with significant health risks, as tongues are coated with a film of microorganisms and saliva has enzymes that can break down. These microorganisms may cause infections in the eye such as conjunctivitis, herpes, chlamydia, corneal abrasions[5] and corneal ulcers. Oral bacteria on the tongue can potentially enter corneal scratches caused by licking the eye, which then lead to infection. There is also the risk of blindness from the resulting infections, as well as styes. The differing species in the microbiota of the eye and mouth is why it is no longer recommended to lick contact lenses before they are inserted into one's eye.

Odaxelagnia is the paraphilia involving the sexual attraction to biting or being bitten.

The biting may range from soft and playful, to fierce and painful, and in some cases, may result in bleeding. (If you break the skin, you want to stop and treat the wound immediately by cleaning it out with a disinfectant and bandaging it. A more serious bite may need medical attention to avoid infection.)

This fetish may coincide with vampire fetishism.

Odontophilia is a tooth fetish, or fetish for sexual activities involving teeth. Tooth sexual activity could involve licking teeth, biting teeth, or even taking teeth out, in very extreme cases of the fetish. The fetish also branches into tooth-related devices, such as apparatus used to hold your mouth open during dental surgery or various other dental props.

Olfactophilia is one of the paraphilias of the fetishistic/talismanic type in which the sexuoerotic stimulus is associated with smell and odors emanating from parts of the body. The most common afflictions are with the smell of sexual organs, adjacent areas, armpits, and are commonly associated with sweat.

  • olfactophilia – Latin olfacto, to smell, pertaining to the sense of smell, and Greek philia, "love"
  • osmolagnia – Greek osme, "smell", and lagneia, "lust"
  • osphresiolagnia was a term used by Sigmund Freud to describe the sexual arousal brought about by odors
  • ozolagnia - ozo meaning "smell", and lagnia, (greek) meaning "sexual act"

Ophidiophilia is a sexual arousal by reptiles; most commonly snakes. Ophidiophilia is a subcategory of zoophilia, the sexual attraction to animals in general. People with ophidiophilia are known as ophidiophiles.

Ophidicism (an act associated with ophidiophilia) is a sexual act in which a person inserts the tail of a snake or eel in their vagina or anus, and receives pleasure as it wriggles to get free. It can be dangerous in that some reptiles carry salmonella. Ophidicism has been documented as being practiced (as well as many other sexual acts) in Ancient Greece. Variations include inserting the snake/eel headfirst.

Orgiophilia is the state of sexual arousal by sexual acts with multiple partners simultaneously, (i.e., and orgy.)

Orthodontiphilia a paraphilia fetish where the sexuoerotic stimulus is associated with orthodontic paraphenalia, most commonly dental braces.

Sounding, or urethral play (UP) is any play or activity, usually sexual in nature, that involves the insertion of toys or items into the urethra. The urethra or urethral tract is the membrane lined tube that leads from the external meatus (opening) of the male or female into the bladder. Its main purpose is the elimination of urine (urination) from the bladder. However, in the male it also serves as the delivery mechanism for semen and fluids during the act of reproduction.

Any time an object is introduced past the meatus and into the urethra, most authorities would consider this action to be of a medical nature, considering the delicate nature of the urethra lining and associated membranes. Any item not properly sterilized can easily introduce infection into this area, so the medical implications of urethral play must be taken into account.

For males who are interested in urethral play, the introduction of either soft or rigid items into the meatus of the penis (and further down) is quite thrilling. Items and toys, such as urethral sounds, are usually inserted down the penis to Cobb’s Curve (considered to be the "Safe Area" of the urethral tract) and can usually be easily retrieved. Other toys and items, like catheters, are introduced deeper and in some cases even into the bladder. Some items may even be allowed to curl several times or expand within the bladder in this regard. This action in the male seems to be directly or indirectly associated with simulation of the prostate gland and some types of bladder control (BDSM).

When these items are left in place for sexual pleasure or other activity (BDSM), and orgasms are allowed then special care needs to be taken. After either a male or female orgasm the bladder's mouth becomes very tight and removal of objects can be very difficult and may tear tissue. Usually, several minutes need to pass to allow slow removal of deep object or toys and usually some kind of urinary effort to aid in that process.

P
Parthenophilia is a sexual arousal brought about by the concept of virginity, typically of individuals in their late adolecence.

The first act of sexual intercourse by a female is commonly considered within many cultures to be an important personal milestone. Its significance is reflected in expressions such as "saving oneself", "losing one's virginity," "taking someone's virginity" and sometimes as "deflowering". The occasion is at times seen as the end of innocence, integrity, or purity, and the sexualization of the individual.

The philia is often associated with the concept of pushing a late-adolecent to cross that sexual milestone. Similarly, it can be associated with the concept of breaching a level of purity or innocence with a sexual act, sometimes consensual, sometimes associated with raptophilia (rape).

While this philia is often associated with virgins of a legal age, it also has ties to paedophilia.

Paedophilia (or pedophilia) is a psychological disorder in which an adult or older adolescent experiences a sexual preference for prepubescent children. According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), pedophilia is specified as a form of paraphilia in which a person either has acted on intense sexual urges towards children, or experiences recurrent sexual urges towards and fantasies about children that cause distress or interpersonal difficulty. The disorder is common among people who commit child sexual abuse; however, some offenders do not meet the clinical diagnosis standards for pedophilia.

Each nation, and individual regional municipality has a 'legal age for sexual activities'. Because the nature of sexual philias and fetishes is to 'get to the next step', and to evolve one's fantasies into reality; any person who harbors a sexual desire of a paedophilic nature may become a risk to persons below the legal age, and should seek psychoanalysis immediately to be on the safe side.

Sexual roleplay is an erotic form of roleplay: it is a sexual behavior where two or more people act out roles in a sexual fantasy. How seriously this is taken depends on the people involved, and the scenario may be anywhere from simple and makeshift to detailed and elaborate, complete with costumes and a script. Nearly any role could become the base material for an erotic experience, and there is no limit to what objects an individual could consider sexual.

These might include a teacher and pupil, or employer and maid. Sexual roleplay is common in BDSM, and is integral to most pseudonymous or anonymous forms of internet sexual interaction.

Roleplaying may be also be used as a way to fulfill fantasies which may not be safe to fulfill in reality.

That said, individuals may have a philia solely associated with the garment itself. Some people can experience sexual excitement from wearing, while others get their excitement when observing, handling, or smelling the underwear worn by another, or watching somebody putting underwear on or taking it off.

Not to be confused with pedophilia, pediophilia a sexual fetish in which an individual is attracted to dolls and doll like objects such as figurines. The attraction may include the desire for actual sexual contact with a doll, a fantasy of a sexual encounter with an animate or inanimate doll, encounters between dolls themselves, or sexual pleasure gained from thoughts of being transformed or transforming another into a doll. Doll fetishism is a form of agalmatophilia, which is itself a form of object sexuality.

Restraints are a sub-categorization of 'bondage'. While bondage refers to the act of restricting movement either physically, (such as with rope) or mentally (by verbal command / intimidation,) restrain fetishism is the sexual arousal by the presence of restraining devices, such as handcuffs, rope, tape, or chains.

The fetish may involve the wearing or said items, or the sight of others wearing them. In some cases, other sensory experiences come into play, such as the sound of chains rattling, or the squeak of rope under tension.

Plastic and PVC fetishsims are paraphila fetishes associated with the plastic and/or PVC materials, or clothing made of said materials.

(PVC is a type of plastic, and it's fetishism is closely related to latex fetishism and refers to shiny clothes made of the synthetic plastic polyvinyl chloride (PVC). This is sometimes confused with the similarly-shiny patent leather, which is also a fetish material. For purposes of this site, PVC is classified as a seperate fetish.)

Plastic fetishists often have a desire to wear clothing made out of soft clear plastic. Clothing such as clear plastic raincoats, clear plastic rain capes, clear plastic rain suits and clear plastic unbrellas are very popular for those who have a fetish in clear plastic. Less popular are clear plastic skirts, dresses, and rain hats, or what are often called bonnets.

Phalloorchoalgolagnia, more commonly known as Cock and ball torture (CBT), is a sexual activity involving torture of the male genitals. This may involve directly painful activities, like wax play and genital spanking, but it may equally consist of the use of cock harnesses, testicle cuffs, parachutes, prolonged stimulation (teasing), not necessarily leading to orgasm. Erotic electrostimulation may be used in CBT.

The use of ball bags, ball stretchers, various kinds of chastity devices, and the humbler can also be regarded as forms of CBT.

A ball lock may be used for prolonged entrapment, providing an interesting predicament associated with not knowing when padlock will be unfastened, releasing the testicles.

Phallophilia is a sexual fetish associated specifically with large penises. This fetish can involve the disproportion of the body to the member, the act of insertion of the large member, among others.

Phygephilia is a type of paraphilia in which an individual experiences sexual arousal from being a fugitive on the run. This fetish is also known as fugitive fetish or runaway fetish.

Individuals with phygephilia may fantasize about being chased by the police or other authority figures, may enjoy the adrenaline rush that comes with the risk of getting caught, and may even go as far as to engage in illegal activities to fulfill their fetish. (It is important to note that engaging in illegal activities is not condoned and can result in serious consequences. It is possible to explore phygephilia in a safe and consensual manner through role-playing or other forms of consensual non-consent.)

Pictophilia is a sexual fetish characterized by the arousal from looking at erotic pictures or watching pornography. This fetish can be directed towards a particular type of pornography or towards a specific pornographic actor/actress.

According to experts, pictophilia is a type of visual stimulation that triggers the brain’s reward system, leading to sexual arousal. When a person with pictophilia views erotic images or watches pornography, the brain releases dopamine, a neurotransmitter responsible for pleasure and reward. This release of dopamine reinforces the behavior, making it more likely to be repeated in the future.

Studies have also shown that people with pictophilia may have a stronger response to visual sexual stimuli than the general population. This heightened response is believed to be due to the brain’s reward system being more sensitive to sexual cues.

While pictophilia is not inherently harmful, it can become problematic if it interferes with a person’s daily life or relationships. Treatment for pictophilia may include therapy, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, to help individuals understand and manage their fetish.

It is important to note that seeking treatment for pictophilia does not mean that a person needs to give up their fetish entirely. Instead, therapy can help individuals develop a healthy relationship with their fetish and ensure that it does not negatively impact their life or relationships.

Planopiaphilia is a sexual fetishism associated with armor, typically moulded metal body armor, such as chestplates, armplates, helmets, etc. This fetish may be associated with the idealization of the human form that some armour can highlight, it can also be associated with battle, physical action, or other sensory components. While I can not provide a lot of insight into this fetish, I did find this interesting reference material:

In the process of body scarification, scars are formed by cutting or branding the skin. Scarification is sometimes called cicatrization (from the French equivalent).

Endorphins can be released in the scarification process that can induce a euphoric state. There are also religious and social reasons for scarification.

Scarification produces harm and trauma to the skin; thus it is not safe unless practised by an experienced body modification artist.

Pligonophilia is a sexual fetish associated with the act of being scarred, burned or branded in a way that will leave a permanent scar or mark. The arousal state can be associated with the pain, or the psychology of knowing the act will leave the individual permanently altered.

Plushophilia (from "plushie" and "-philia") is a paraphilia involving stuffed toy animals. Many plushophiles modify their plushies with a hole or holes reminiscent of those found in sex toys, to allow them to sexually interact with their plushies. Plushophiles are sometimes called plushies, although this term (plushies) can also refer to non-sexual stuffed toy animal enthusiasts, and to stuffed toy animals in general.

Party and play (PnP), also known as chemsex or wired play, refers to the practice of consuming drugs to enhance sexual activity. This sexual subculture involves recreational drug users engaging in high-risk sexual behaviors under the influence of drugs, often within specific sub-groups.Activities may include unprotected sex with multiple partners during sessions over extended periods, sometimes lasting days. The drug of choice is typically methamphetamine, commonly referred to as crystal meth, tina, or T. Other substances like mephedrone, GHB, GBL, and alkyl nitrites (known as poppers) are also used. The term slamsex is used for injection drug users.

The practice is commonly referred to as "party 'n' play" (PNP or PnP) by some participants, while others use the term "high 'n' horny" (HnH). An academic study has labeled it "sexualized drug use" (SDU). The term PnP is widely used as a term in North America and Australia, the term chemsex is more common in Europe, and in southeast Asian countries, commonly known as "chem fun" (CF or Cf).

Procticophilia, more commonly known as anal play most often refers to the sex act involving insertion of the penis (actual or synthetic) into the anus. The term can also sometimes include other sexual acts involving the anus, including but not limited to anilingus and fingering.

In the receiving partner, being penetrated can produce a pleasurable sensation due to the inserted penis rubbing or brushing against the prostate through the anal wall. Penetration can be painful if the bottom partner's anus is not properly lubricated. The prostate gland (also known as the "male G-spot" or "A-spot") can be stimulated during anal intercourse.

Stimulation of the prostate gland can result in pleasurable sensations and can lead to a distinct type of orgasm in some cases. The prostate is located next to the rectum and is the larger, more developed male homologue to the Skene's glands, which are believed to be connected to the female "G-spot". The Skene's glands are sometimes referred to as the "female prostate"; they are located around the urethra and can be felt through the wall of the vagina.

Anal-oral contact, also referred to as anal-oral sex, rimming, or anilingus (from "anus" and "lingua"), is a form of oral sex involving contact between the anus or perineum of one person and the mouth of another.

Analingus involves a variety of techniques to stimulate the anal area including kissing, licking, and sliding the tongue in and out of the anal opening. Pleasure from rimming comes from the sensitive nerve endings surrounding the anal opening, which are typically stimulated by the tongue and lips.

There are many health problems that can result from practicing unsafe rimming, because of the presence of bacteria, viruses or parasites on or in the anus or rectum.

Podophilia is a sexual fetishism associated with feet.

Polyiterophilia is a sexual fetish centered upon repeating the same carnal behaviors and actions multiple times, and with various partners.

Poupoulophilia is a sexual fetish associated with down (goose feather). The fetish often revolves around the feel and look of the nylon casing down filling is usually encased in, though can also relate to elements such as:
  • padding thickness
  • nylon shiny through wear
  • dirty nylon (through normal wear or sexual use)
  • ripping the nylon
Whilst jacket fetishism does not have the widespread popularity of other fetishes like bondage, it is a popular niche fetish and has numerous successful websites and discussion/picture groups dedicated to it.

Psavophilia, or fingering, also called finger banging or finger fucking, is the practice of stimulating the vagina or anus of a sexual partner by inserting the fingers, and is a common form of mutual masturbation. To "finger oneself" is to masturbate in this manner.

Fingering of the anus and rectum is commonly practiced in preparation of further anal sex, such as inserting the penis or a dildo (possibly a strap-on dildo), or other inanimate objects to widen the entry point and prepare the receiver. Some practicers thus consider it foreplay, while others use it as a full sex act on its own. It is a common practice among homosexual men, though it is far from exclusive to them.

Anal fingering is an effective way of stimulating the prostate gland of men, and thus bringing the receiver to orgasm. In fact, because of the flexibility and relative maneuverability of the fingers it is sometimes considered superior to a penis in this capacity.

Psychrocism is a relatively uncommon fetish that involves being aroused by coldness. This can manifest in different ways, such as having sex with a cold partner, using cold objects during sex, or watching others freeze. This can include a variety of activities, such as having sex with a partner who is cold or has a low body temperature, using cold objects such as ice cubes or cold dildos during sex.

Pugilism is the sexual arousal of a person as the result of punching, or being punched. this is most commonly done in the gut or chest, usually while the victim is in bondage. This fetish usually coincides with a rape fantasy.

Pyrophilia is a relatively uncommon paraphilia in which the patient derives gratification from fire and fire-related activity. It is distinguished from pyromania by the gratification being sexual in nature.

Some described cases of pyrophilia do not include behaviors commonly associated with pyromania, such as being a regular “watcher” at fires in his neighbourhood; setting offfalse alarms; deriving pleasure from institutions, equipment, and personnel associated with fire, spending time at the local fire station, setting fires in order to be affiliated with the fire department; and either showing indifference to the consequences to life and property caused by the fire or deriving satisfaction from the resulting destruction of property. Sexual gratification need not involve actual fire; arousal or masturbatory aids may include fantasies or talk of setting a fire. In other instances, the patient may derive arousal primarily from setting or watching their fire.

R
Biastophilia and raptophilia refer to a paraphilia in which sexual arousal is dependent on, or is responsive to, the act of assaulting an unconsenting person, especially a stranger. The source of the arousal in these paraphilias is the terrified resistance to the assault, and in this respect it is considered to be a form of sexual sadism.

Similarly, some fetishists imagine themselves being coerced, or otherwise forced into a sex act.

45.8% of men in a 1980 study reported fantasizing during heterosexual intercourse about "a scene where [they had] the impression of being raped by a woman" (3.2% often and 42.6% sometimes); 44.7% of scenes where a seduced woman "pretends resisting;" and 33% of raping a woman.

One form of sexual roleplaying is the rape fantasy, also called ravishment or forced sex roleplay. Ravishment has become a more preferred term in BDSM circles, as it makes a distinction between consensual roleplay and nonconsensual assault. Though consensuality is an important component of sexual roleplay, the illusion of non-consensuality (ie. rape) is important to maintaining the fantasy. Crossing the line may constitute an assault.

Since the illusion of non-consensuality is important to the fantasy, one or more safewords are typically employed. This way, a participant can protest without stopping the scene, unless the safeword is used. Often a variation on the "stop-light" system is used, with different colors designating different messages: "red" to stop everything, "yellow" to slow down or take it easy, and so forth. For scenes where there is an element of surprise, the top or "ravisher" may use a "startword" or other identifying signal.

In healthy ravishment scenes, all participants carefully negotiate what will transpire beforehand. Limits are respected and made very clear, to maintain safe, sane and consensual play. Such negotiation would also include discussion of emotional issues for both partners, especially if there has been a prior history of actual sexual abuse or assault.

Renfleurism is a sexual fetish in which participants derive sexual pleasure from the smell of urine.

People with renfleurism often like to be urinated on by other people, and may drink the urine, or to enjoy sexual activities in an environment which smells of urine, such as a restroom.

Rhabdophilia is a sexual fetish where one is arounsed by the state of being beaten or flogged. This arousal may be the result of the physical experience, the psychological submission, or the marks left behind.

Renophilia, or fur fetishism can be defined two ways; either as a fetish for animal-derived or synthetic animal pelts, either as a stand-alone item, or manufactured into clothing; or as a transmophic fetish, also known as "furry fandom", "furdom" or "yiffy". For the latter definition, please see yiffy.

Fur fetishism is a sexual arousal by the sensory experience of animal fur. (In most cases, animal pelts and skins, but in some cases the fetish applies to synthetic furs as well.) While in most cases, the fetish is a tactile one, the specifics of the sensory and psychological appeal varies by the individual.

Because of the stigma associated with the perceptions of animal cruelty associated with fur, some fetishists experience difficulty within the fetish sub-culture.

S
Masochism is the enjoyment of being hurt. Sadism is the enjoyment of inflicting pain.

Ranging from mild scratching and pinching, to full-fledged flogging and beating. Like all fetishes, this is a physical and psychological fetish. (physical = sensation of being hurt, psychological = the act of being subservient, helpless...or in complete control and powerful, depending on the role.) Pain can be a slight discomfort, and does not need to be overwhelming or unbearable... by manipulating the means and amounts of 'pain', a wide range of physical sensations can be achieved.

Salophilia is a sexual attraction to salt or salty things (especially body sweat). The term derives from the latin for salt, sal. This paraphilic fetish can be related to the act of sweating, or making someome sweat, the presence of sweat on a person, or a garment or article saturated in sweat. This fetish is commonly affiliated with olfactophilia, since the odor of the sweaty person or garment is also a factor.

This fetish can be associated with a particular part of the body, such as the armpit, chest, testicles, etc.

Fisting is a sexual activity that involves inserting a hand into the vagina or rectum. Typically, fisting does not involve forcing the clenched fist into the vagina or rectum. Instead, all five fingers are kept straight and held as close together as possible (forming a beak-like shape, casually referred to as a "silent duck"), then slowly inserted into a well-lubricated vagina or rectum. Once insertion is complete, the fingers either naturally clench into a fist or remain straight. In more vigorous forms of fisting, such as "punching," a fully clenched fist may be inserted and withdrawn slowly. Fistees who are more experienced may take two fists (double-fisting) in the vagina or rectum. In the case of double-fisting, pleasure is derived more from the stretching of the anus or vaginal wall rather than from the thrusting (in-and-out) movement of hands.

Fisting has been performed on (and by) both men and women; gay, straight and otherwise. While fisting remains unexplored by many people, the ones who do have developed three main techniques: Silent Duck, Double Fist/Side Prayer, and the My Hand In Your Pockets.

The Silent Duck is the technique most often used, where the person engaging in hand insertion makes a beak-like shape with their hand resembling a duck. Double Fist/Side Prayer is a very advanced technique which only few are capable of achieving. The person engaging in hand insertion (the fister) places their hands palm to palm forming a position similar to one used when praying. Handler then turns theirs parallel to the floor, pointing fingers towards subject's vagina and/or anus.

Scopophilia, (literall "pleasure in looking" is a sexual fetish associated with being looked at, stared at, or watched. Commonly, this fetish is associated with a non-physical interaction, where one individual will not engage or any sexual act, and will simply stare at or watch a person or persons engaged in a sexual act, or will physicall self-stimulate while watching/staring.

Seduziphilia is an uncommon sexual fetish associated with "visual kei", glam rock, glam metal, or sleaze rock styles, clothing, and appearances, typically of the early 1980s into the 1990s. This could be describes as a type of attraction to your typical 80's rockstar, and may be associated with makeup, "guyliner", big hair, and clothing which does not fit the norm of society, often including skin tight leather, pleasther, PVC or vinyl, and often including exposed skin as well. (so, picture any 80's or 90's sleaze hair rock band, such as Poison, Motley Crue, Warrant, Black Veil Brides, etc.) TThe fetishism can be associated with the style, appearance, or specific clothing articles. The basis of this fetish is the psychology behind the person's interpretation of glam; for example, the attraction to rock stars because of their 'bad boy' image, or androgyny.

Siderodromophilia is a sexual fetish associated with riding in or on trains. This may be associated with common passenger trains or freight trains, and may include the illegal act of "trainhopping" to gain illegal passage.

Silicones are largely-inert, man-made compounds with a wide variety of forms and uses. Typically heat-resistant, nonstick, and rubber-like, they are commonly used in cookware, medical applications, sealants, adhesives, lubricants, insulation, and breast implants.

Silicone fetishism is often associated with a philia for synthetic materials, most commonly smooth, or slick textiles, such as latex or plastic.

Silicone fetishisms may be attracted to the material itself, or garments made of said material, such as swim caps, gloves, mitts, sheathes, etc.

Sitophilia is a sexual fetish related to the act of placing food on another person, and usually eating it off of them, for pleasure. A full-bodied food fetish. Commonly used in present participle form sploshing.

Some people like to include food in their sexual practices, usually in a messy context. (i have yet to hear of someone neatly eating a potato chip during sex as a turn on, but i imagine there are people who would find that very thing arousing.) most common is the use of whipped cream and fruit, but it can include any food product. while i am the type who would dread cleaning it up afterwards to participate in this kind of thing, and while i would not enjoy most foods, i have found ice cream to be particularly fun in the middle of a hot summer day, provided you lick it up before it gets sticky.

"Slave" is a term often used in BDSM to connote a specific form of submissive. A sexual roleplay or consensual slave could also be a masochist or bottom, but this is not always the case.

Connotatively it refers to highly committed domination and submission (commonly abbreviated as D/s) relationships, as a person who has surrendered their personal property and freedoms to another, who has become the property or chattel of their owner(s). This term is widely used, as it has a certain self-affirming weight.

Some practitioners feel the difference between submissive and slave is the degree of submission. However, many who are involved in master/slave relationships see the difference as one in kind, not in degree. In particular, some slaves do not have a naturally submissive personality, but simply choose to surrender their will and volition to another.

There is considerable debate over the exact definition of the word "slave" as it pertains to BDSM. Many people believe that you are a slave if you consider yourself one, whilst others believe one must be in the emotional state of total power exchange (see below) for the term to apply.

There are differences of opinion about whether one needs to be currently in an M/s relationship to be identified as a slave. Many in the mistress/master-slave community do not feel that current ownership is a requirement, viewing it as an identity rather than a condition.

Snowballing or semen swapping is a human sexual practice in which one person takes into their mouth the semen of another person, and then 'swaps' it back and forth with another person through kissing or spitting.

In a heterosexual context, snowballing is when a man receives his own semen from the mouth of his female partner, into which he has ejaculated. This may appeal to a male who wishes to adopt a passive or submissive role (which conventional fellatio does not entail).

In the more common homosexual context, a man or men may share the taste of one man's semen by kissing or spitting the semen before swallowing.

Snowballing is often featured in pornography, sometimes as part of a practice called bukkake. Here, men generally adopt the dominant role, and semen is passed between women's mouths. Instead of spitting the semen, a much more common practice is that one woman simply opens her mouth and lets the semen flow very slowly or even trickle into the other woman's mouth; this process is slower and so it takes more time on video. Also, a certain minimum distance between mouths is kept to better see the actual fluid that is swapped.

Because snowballing a man's semen involves the exchange of bodily fluids without any barrier, it is not a form of safer sex. Risks are presumably similar to those of unprotected oral sex.

In case you were wondering:

Somnophilia is a paraphilia in which sexual arousal and/or orgasm are stimulated by intruding on and awakening a sleeping person with erotic caresses, but not with force or violence. The eye-rolling before fainting may also cause arousal. Somnophilia may also refer to having sex with a sleeping partner or rubbing against the body with the genitals or hands. There is no literal term for the reciprocal paraphilic condition of being the recipient, which more often occurs in fantasy than in reality.

Spectrophilia is a sexual philia where one is aroused by the conceptualization of intercourse with a ghost, spectre or spirit. This fetish can be achieved by fantasization or roleplay.

Also known as, (ready for this?;) boy broth, boy juice, cream, dew, Elmer's Glue, Emenem, Fun Sauce, Funk Junk, Gogurt, Homemade Lotion, Jizz, Jism, Man Gravy, Man Juice, Man Spackle, Oreo with no cookie, Protein Shake, Skeet, Sleet, Spaff, Spunk, Spuff, the loot that I shoot, WD-40, (thank you Wikipedia...)

Fetishists commonly enjoy the act of ejaculation onto a particcular area of the body, or within the mouth; the act of ejaculation and orgasm being the apex of the sexual act. The variations on the fetish are widespread, but are commonly themed around the ejaculate's placement or consumption.

While ejaculate can carry disease, and result in pregnancy, it is not without health benefits:

Body modification (or body alteration) is the permanent or semi-permanent deliberate altering of the human body for non-medical reasons. It can range from the socially acceptable decoration (e.g., pierced ears in many societies), to the overtly religiously mandated (e.g., circumcision in a number of cultures) to corporal punishment, to provocative statement by the rebellious (e.g., tongue splitting). Some even become physically addicted to the adrenaline/endorphin release associated with a painful procedure in a way analogous to that experienced by those who self harm. Some people experience an abstract but distinct compulsion to modify their body that appears to have no underlying or external reason.

While some fetishists are attracted to the adrenaline or endorphins, others are attracted to the physical appearance of modified bodies.

Stratiophilia, or military fetishism is a form of sexual fetishism whereby a person becomes aroused by the visual of, or the psychological impact of dressing in military uniform or acoutrement. This fetish is often associated with uniform fetish, and/or boot fetish, since these often go hand in hand with militia dress. This fetish can also encompass the act of recreating military practices, such as the recreation of 'basic training' situations, forced exercise, and can also be tied into the humiliation fetish.

Sthenolagnia is a fetish defined as 'sexual arousal from displaying muscles', cratolagnia is 'sexual arousal from the demonstration of strength'.

In common language, this fetish may be known as muscle worship, ot 'flex-sex'. The fetish may involve a person being sexually aroused by their partner observing and admiring their strength, or the admiration of muscle/strength by another person. In some cases, the fetish may overlap into bondage, as a desire to overpower the strong, muscular person and render their strength useless.

Subvestiphilia, or underwear fetishism is a sexual fetishism associated with underwear.

Some individuals have a paraphilia for a specific type of underwear or panty. For example, a common subclass of panty fetishism are panties that show the exposed buttocks (i.e. thongs and g-strings). Further, some individuals have the opposite preference, and are attracted to underwear that cover the buttocks, such as boxer shorts.

The philia may be associated with the smell of the garment, the act of wering the garment, or the act of taking it on and off.

Vampires are mythological or folkloric beings that subsist on human and/or animal lifeforce. In most cases, they are reanimated corpses who feed by draining and consuming the blood of living beings. In folklore, the term usually refers to the undead blood-drinking humans of Eastern European legends, but it is often applied to similar legendary creatures from other regions and cultures. The characteristics of vampires vary widely among these different traditions. Some cultures also have stories of non-human vampires, including real animals such as bats, dogs, spiders, and mythical creatures such as the chupacabra.

Succolamiaphilia is a sexual arousal brought about by vampires. Odaxelagnia is the sexual arousal from biting a person, or being bitten.

The vampire fetish is often a combination of roleplaying, gothism, and possibly bloodplay; and involves the bearer's fascination with the mythical creatures.

Synallassomaiphilia is a sexual fetish involving sexual bribery, which is the practice of exchanging (or withholding) sexual acts as payment (or bribery) for other goods or services.

This is often done as a roleplaying activity. Some examples include a 'student' bribing a 'teacher' with sexual acts for a higher grade, or a 'driver' bribing a 'police officer' with sexual acts to avoid a citation.

Syntrivo̱philia , or a crush fetish, is a paraphilia which primarily consists of the desire to see others (generally a desirable potential partner) crush or step on an object or an animal. Crushing by feet can be the main focus (although other methods are implemented, such as sitting on the target object or animal). The foot (barefoot or in shoes) is thus often idolised in crush erotica such as magazines, audio tapes and crush films.

T
Tarachopoiophilia is a sexual fetishism associated with a cleanly shaven head, or skinhead. Skinheads, named after their cropped or shaven heads, are members of a working-class subculture that originated in Britain in the 1960s. They were heavily influenced by the rude boys of the West Indies and the mods of the UK.

In subsequent decades, the skinhead subculture spread to other parts of Europe, North America and other continents. Politically, skinheads range from far-right and racist to far-left and anti-fascist; and everything in between (including apolitical). Fashion-wise, they range from a more cleancut mod-influenced 1960s style to less-strict punk- and hardcore-influenced styles.

The fetish has adapted to a paraphilia towards the clothes or the aesthetic of the sub-culture.

Taphephilia is a sexual fetish driven by the act or thought of being buried alive. This philia can also include a sexual arousal from cemeteries, due o their association with being buried.

Mummification as a BDSM bondage practice involves restraining a living person's body in a non-damaging way by wrapping it head to toe, or neck to toe, in materials like saran wrap, clingfilm, cloth, bandages, rubber strips, duct tape, plaster bandages, bodybags, or straitjackets. The end result is a person completely immobilized and looking like an Egyptian mummy. They may then either be left bound in a state of effective sensory deprivation for a period of time, or sensually stimulated in their state of bondage, before being released from their wrappings.

Mummification is often used to enhance a feeling of total bodily helplessness, and incorporated with sensation play.

Tarichefsipihilia is the sexual fetish accosiated with the above act.

Tatouaphilia is a sexual fetish associated with the act of getting or receiving tattoos, or arousal by the presence of tattoos on the skin.

A tattoo is a permanent marking made by inserting ink into the layers of skin to change the pigment for decorative or other reasons.

Endorphins can be released in the tattoo process that can induce a euphoric state. There are also religious and social reasons for tattooing.

Tattoing produces harm and trauma to the skin; thus it is not safe unless practised by an experienced body modification artist.

Tenebrophilia is sexual fetish associated with a dark, sensual, eroticism commonly associated with the gothic subculture.

The goth subculture is a contemporary subculture prevalent in many countries. It began in the United Kingdom during the late 1970s to early 1980s in the gothic rock scene, an offshoot of the post-punk genre. The goth subculture has survived much longer than others of the same era. Its imagery and cultural proclivities indicate influences from nineteenth century Gothic literature, mainly through horror movies.

The goth subculture has associated gothic tastes in music and fashion. Gothic music encompasses a number of different styles. Common to all is a tendency towards a “dark” sound and outlook. Styles of dress within the subculture range from death rock, punk, androgynous, some Renaissance and Victorian style clothes, or combinations of the above, most often with black attire, makeup and hair.

Goth style's rejection of mainstream values, emphasis on freedom of expression, and challenging taboos makes it difficult to define its aesthetic principles. Goth fashion emphasizes transformation of the body, elements of beauty, order, conscious eroticism and 'otherness' that flouts conventions.

Gothic sexuality is often a fetish-linked variance on the subculture; interttwining dark, visual aesthetics, and sensual, passionate, and mildly kinky sexual intercourse.

Tepistaphilia is a paraphilia where the sexual attraction to the "punk" image is the basis; mostly a visual and psychological fetish. many people are attracted to the attitude that goes along with the punk mentality, as well as the bold, daring physical display of anti-mainstream cultural clothing and style, including but not limited to mohawks, piercing, tattoos, and clothing. this is a psychological fetish which revovles around the generalized concepts and ideals the person has about 'punks', and can overlap with other fetishes, such as olfactophilia.

Thesauromanis is a sexual fetishism or mania associated with collecting or stealing womens' clothing. This fetish may, depending on the individual, be associated witha specific article of clothing, such as undergarments, or a varitey of clothing in general. It is most commonly associated with the act of "collecting trophies" as momentos of sexual partners.

Thiliphilia is a sexual fetish associated with nipple play. Nipple play refers to any of several erotic BDSM activities focusing solely on inflicting pain on the breast, nipples, and areola for sexual gratification. Breast-oriented BDSM activities range from relatively safe and benign, such as the use of clothespins on the nipples, light flagellation, or simple breast bondage to activities that can include great risk, such as more severe caning, amateur piercing, or being suspended by the breasts.

While it is well documented that non-consensual sexual torture has been common in both modern society and in the past, the term "tit torture" in this context applies to consensual sexual activity. Many sexual fantasies, including those involving breast torture, reflect a desire to use a partner without fear of consequences, regardless of how extreme the use. Rational people understand this kind of desire is just that -- sexual fantasy -- and that most of these fantasies can be role-played safely, sanely and with enjoyment on the part of both partners.

In an erotic context, both the giver of breast punishment and the receiver receive some kind of pleasure from the experience. In many cases, people experience increased physical pleasure as a result of the release of chemicals called endorphins into the blood stream. Their pleasure may be psychological, derived from being completely controlled by another person and/or from the pleasure the other person gets from the experience.

The person delivering the punishment may enjoy the power they have over their partner, or they may simply enjoy more basic sensual satisfactions, such as seeing the bouncing ripple of a victim's breast from a riding crop's blow or the puckering of a dark nipple between the jaws of a clamp, feeling the breast flow between crushing fingers or the nipple harden in a rough tweaking pinch, or hearing the victim's moans as the tips of her breasts are slowly chilled with an ice cube or her whimpers as the cold crevices of her chilled areola fill with molten wax.

Both may enjoy sexual roleplaying their actions, such as acting out a dominant lover's latent nipple-fixated vampire dreams or a submissive partner's breast torture rape fantasy. Regardless, in most cases the pleasure is derived from some combination of these physical, emotional and psychological factors.

Thorakisiphilia is a sexual fetish which yields arousal from chainmaille, (also spelled 'chainmail'.) Chainmaille is a clothing material consisting of small metal rings linked together in a pattern to form a mesh, initially for armour purposes.

The word itself refers to the armour material, not the garment made from it. A shirt made from mail is a hauberk if knee-length, haubergeon if mid-thigh length, and byrnie if waist-length. Mail leggings are called chausses, mail hoods coif and mail mittens mitons. A mail collar hanging from a helmet is camail or aventail. A mail collar worn strapped around the neck was called a pixane or standard. Mail is now often used for decorative use and in jewellery.

Fetishism for chainmail can involve wearing a garment made of chainmail, watching another in chainmail, or can involve the sensory aspects of chainmail, such as the sound, weight, or texture.

Transvestism, or cross-dressing is the act of wearing clothing commonly associated with another gender within a particular society.

Nearly every society throughout history has had a set of norms, views, guidelines, or laws regarding the wearing of clothing and what is appropriate for each gender. Cross-dressing is a behavior which runs counter to those norms and therefore can be seen as a type of transgender behavior. It does not, however, necessarily indicate transgender identity; a person who cross-dresses does not always identify as having a gender different from that assigned at birth.

The term cross-dressing denotes an action or a behavior without attributing or proposing causes for that behavior. Some people automatically connect cross-dressing behavior to transgender identity or sexual, fetishist, and homosexual behavior, but the term cross-dressing itself does not imply any motives. However, referring to a person as a cross-dresser suggests that their cross-dressing behavior is habitual and may be taken to mean that the person identifies as transgendered. The term cross-dresser should therefore be used with care to avoid causing misunderstanding or offense.

Among paraphilias, trichophilia is unique in that for some, it has strong associations with time and place of the sexual development of the paraphiliac. There is a subculture among both gay men and heterosexual females (and bisexuals of both genders) who fetishize long-haired males, some finding males without long hair completely unarousing. The demographics of trichophiliacs particularly attracted to long-haired males - including a large number of persons born in the 1960s who became middle aged adults in the 21st century - suggests that ambient culture and fashion during the time of their early childhood and also around the time of puberty development may have contributed to the strong preference, especially among those whose personality attraction is to "rebel" types. Younger women of the early part of the 21st century - a time during which Japanese manga and anime became extremely popular, have also shown signs of this fetish owing to the unusually long hair on males in a great deal of this art, particularly that originating in the 1980s and 1990s. The difference is that the middle-aged trichophiliacs became attracted to something considered at the time to be daring and edgy, something classically worrisome to parents as it was seen as a symptom of lessened masculinity in the conservative populations; the later generation of long-haired male fetishists associated this look with very trendy, popular, socially-acceptable Japanese media featuring "bishonen" - or "beautiful boys", so totally different cultural associations have likely been made with their object of desire. It is no longer considered as strange for males to grow their hair long in present times, as compared with the mid-20th century. However, it is rarer in Japan than in America, which may explain why Japanese fantasy comic books and graphic novels feature so many men and boys with long hair.

Aside from the cultural significance of long hair, trichophilia is also possibly related to the presence of pheromones - chemicals which excite one when inhaled, given off by persons in states of arousal from the skin around hair and from under the scalp. Short hair, having less surface area, can accommodate less accumulation of pheromones and other body scents associated with sexual attraction.

Some fetishists may find they have a strong dislike for pubic and/or body hair but a strong attraction to head hair. Likewise, some fetishists find themselves attracted to body hair but not head hair. Specific hair types can be found as a fetish, not just hair in general.

Triolism (sometimes spelled troilism) refers to the erotic interest in watching one’s romantic partner engage in sexual behavior with a third party, sometimes while hidden. A common example is a husband watching his wife have intercourse with another man. This scenario is part of the swinger lifestyle, and varies depending on the participants. This behavior may be a form of compersion. Two of the parties are related, such as a married couple. The third party comes from outside the relationship, and can even be a stranger to the couple. Although the couple is usually separated, it is possible for the third party to be the observer.

Tripsolagnophilia is a sexual fetish where sexuoerotic arousal is achieved from being massaged or otherwise stimulated.

Triviphilia is a sexual fetish associated with abrasion or scratching the dermis (skin). Abrasion as a human sexual practice involves sexual arousal from contact with abrasive substances. This can be person-to-person as in a harsh rubbing of the skin known as a dutch rub or with various substances such as scratchy wool or thistles. Use of harsh abrasives such as sandpaper or steel wool will likely cause lasting injury.

Other forms of abrasion play include "birching", where a person is struck or brushed with handfulls of twigs and leaves, or scratching with fingernails or synthetic claws.

Abrasion play is generally considered safe as long as the skin is not broken. If the skin is broken, even in tiny areas, the area should be disinfected and protected as with any open wound to prevent infection. Improper care can result in permanent scarring.

Tziniphilia, or denim fetishism is a sexual fetish often relating to jeans. The aspects of this fetish are wide in range, and can include torn denim, denim being worn during sex, denim jacket, wet denim, tight fitting jeans, Saggy fit jeans on males to reveal under garment, Erotic spanking where the spankee is wearing jeans, to name a few. The fetishist may enjoy wearing denim themselves, or may enjoy seeing others in denim, sexual acts involving denim, or may experience arousal from the tactile experience of denim.

U
Urolagnia (also known as urophilia or undinism) is a sexual fetish in which participants derive sexual pleasure from urine and urination. Urolagnia is sometimes associated with, or confused with, Omorashi.

People with urolagnia often like to urinate in public, or urinate on, or be urinated on by other people, and may drink the urine. The consumption of urine is urophagia. Some like to watch others doing these things. These activities are often described by the euphemisms "golden showers" or "watersports".

Some people drink large quantities of their own urine as alternative medicine. This is not the same as urolagnia.

Univestiphilia, (greek literally meaning "one clothing",) is a sexual fetish associated with uniforms.

A uniform fetish is a sexual fetish in which someone enjoys dressing in a uniform, or derives sexual pleasure from viewing another person dressed in this manner. It does not require any actual sexual contact per se. Among the commonest uniforms in heterosexual uniform fetish are those of a schoolgirl, nurse, French maid, waitress, cheerleader and Playboy Bunny. Nuns' habits could also be regarded as uniforms. People may fetishise someone dressed as a policeman, soccer player, soldier or firefighter. Military uniforms, particularly those of the World War II era, are fetishised by men in organizations like BLUF. (Breeches and Leather Uniform Fanclub) The uniforms may be realistic, or made more sexual by being made of leather or latex.

Urtication is a sexual fetish where the individual achieves arousal by the use of stinging nettle plants on the skin, most commonly the genitals. This is often associated with an act of sado-masochism or dominance/submission.

V
Bondage refers to the use of restraints for the sexual pleasure of the parties. Bondage is usually, but not always, a sexual practice. It may be used in the context of BDSM or in its own right, as in the case of rope bondage. The paraphilia of being sexually aroused by bondage is sometimes known as vincilagnia (from Latin vincio, to bind or fetter with chains, and lagneia, lust).

Some couples incorporate elements of bondage into their otherwise conventional sex lives at some point in their relationships. Bedroom bondage games often constitute foreplay. Bedroom bondage is usually mild bondage, with one partner voluntarily being put into restraints by being tied up, cuffed, spread-eagled, possibly blindfolded and gagged etc. by the other, who then sexually stimulates the tied partner theoretically at will by masturbation, oral sex, a vibrator or intercourse.

The tied partner's satisfaction is often indicated by writhing, struggling or vocalizations etc. The tied partner may derive additional pleasure from being in a largely "helpless" position in the hands of a trusted partner, and the other may enjoy being in a dominant situation. Either way, many established couples find playing bondage games relationship-affirming, as they both require and imply a level of trust between them that is not normally found within more casual relationships, as well as being a shared facet of their sex lives that many couples prefer to keep private and personal. This form of bondage has its own niche on some internet websites, where images and movies usually depict voluntarily-tied models undergoing inescapable intense sexual pleasuring, rather than any menace, force or pain.

Safety rules followed by couples are frequently context- and trust-based. As the tied partner will more often than not be held in a submissive sex position, sex therefore takes place with their pre-agreed consent. For example, an unexpected photograph taken while one of the parties is incapable of resisting may be considered to be a very different scenario to that of a consensual sex game or rape fantasy enactment, etc. The use of bondage by couples in their homes tends to be different from that associated with bondage in (for example) a BDSM dungeon, where bondage may be an end in itself with no sexual contact at all and is often combined with infliction of pain.

Vinyphilia, or vinyl/PVC fetishism refers to shiny clothes made of the synthetic plastic polyvinyl chloride (PVC). This is sometimes confused with the similarly-shiny patent leather, which is also a fetish material.

A small subgroup of the PVC fetishism community is into clear PVC clothing such as clear plastic raincoats, slipcovers, and custom clothing made out of crystal clear PVC.

The sexual stimuli for vinyl varies from person to person. Some people are attracted to the feel of vinyl, which has a smooth, slick texture. Some people like the way it interacts with the skin, often clinging and capturing sweat and fluids. While others enjoy the look of vinyl, which is often a form-fitting, shiny look... in may cases, it is a combination of one or all of these.

Vinyl is often used as an alternative to leather for vegans or animal-rights fetishists.

Vorarephilia (or vore), also known as phagophilia is a paraphilia where arousal occurs from the idea of being eaten whole and alive, eating another alive, or watching this process. The fantasy may include digestion, which may be imagined to be painless.

In clinical psychology, voyeurism is the sexual interest in or practice of spying on people engaged in intimate behaviors, such as undressing, sexual activity, or other activity usually considered to be of a private nature.

Voyeurism can take several forms, but its principle characteristic is that the voyeur does not normally relate directly with the subject of his or her interest, who is often unaware of being observed. The voyeur may observe the subject from a distance, or use stealth to observe the subject with the use of two-way mirrors, camera, videos etc.

X
Xenophilia is a sexual fetish where a state of arousal is heightened by the anonyminity of one's sexual partners.

Erotic spanking is the practice of spanking another for the sexual gratification of either or both parties. Erotic spanking can be regarded as a form of BDSM activity.

Many spankings are carried out with the use of bare hands, or with spanking implements such as paddles, straps, hairbrushes, and belts.

Sometimes other implements are used for the activity: such as a cane, riding crop, whip, switch (rod), birch, gloves, a ruler or martinet. However, these would not accurately be called spanking. Erotic spankings are commonly combined with other forms of sexual foreplay, such as oral sex, sexual roleplaying and/or ageplay. The most common type of erotic spanking is administered on the bare buttocks, but can also be combined with bondage, in order to heighten sexual arousal and feelings of helplessness in the spankee.

Positions used may include:
  • over the knees (OTK) or across the lap
  • stooped over a chair or couch, or bench
  • on hands and knees (bed or floor)
  • on shoulder of spanker
  • kneeling on a bed or ottoman, stooped over with hands on the floor
  • bent under the arm of the spanker lying face down on a bed
  • bent over, touching toes or over a desk
  • "diaper position" (lying on back with legs raised upward and toward chest)

Furry fandom is a fandom distinguished by its enjoyment of anthropomorphic, often humanoid, animal characters. Examples of anthropomorphism in the furry fandom include the attribution of human intelligence, facial expressions, and [sometimes] anatomy, speech, bipedalism, and the wearing of clothes. Members of this subculture are sometimes known as furry fans, furries, or simply furs.

Art and entertainment celebrated by furry fandom may be any fictional work that employs the concept of animal characters with human characteristics, rather than any particular type of fiction. For this reason, any work, in any medium, may be considered part of the furry genre simply by inclusion of a fantastic animal character, although such characters are most often seen in comics, cartoons, animated films, allegorical novels, and video games. The science fiction and fantasy genres make frequent use of anthropomorphism, and as a result, are especially popular in furry fandom.

Differing approaches to sexuality have been a source of controversy and conflict in furry fandom. Compounding this are stereotypes regarding furries and sex. Examples of mainstream sexual aspects within furry fandom include erotic art, a style sometimes known as yiffy art (from the subculture term "yiff" referring to sexual activity or arousal, supposedly derived from the sound Arctic foxes make when mating), and pornographic movies of sexual activities between participants wearing fur suits. According to The Pitch, examples of the word's present usage include "a yiffy fur", meaning a furry who is sexually aroused or active, "yiffy artwork", meaning sexually explicit furry artwork, "to yiff", meaning to have sex, etc.

The term is most commonly used to indicate sexual activity or material. This applies to sexual activity and interaction within the subculture whether online or offline; it is also applied to sexual arousal and to erotic material causing it. The explanation offered for the etymology of the term within the subculture is that it is an onomatopoeia for the sound foxes make when mating.

Z
Skin tight suits that cover the entire body are commonly called zentai (from the Japanese ????). This is either a contraction of zenshin taitsu (?????) ("full-body tights") or a direct translation of "full body" (?? zentai). Zentai is most commonly made using nylon/spandex blends, but other materials such as cotton and wool are used as well.

With practical uses aside, zentai is also strongly associated with spandex fetishism. Some zentai fetishists are after the experience of total enclosure, while for others it provides a way to anonymously enjoy exhibitionism. One might also experience it as a form of sexual bondage, even though it does not restrict the motion of the body or even act as an effective blindfold. However, there are also those who enjoy zentai for the recreational sensory novelty or physical comfort without any sexual connotations.
